This would leave us with Choudhury as our only truly senior midfielder and he's not played there in about 8 years. If we signed him last summer for £1m we'd all want him to stay. He's mostly being attacked because we drastically overspent on him and that's not his fault. Yes he is an absolutely boring player but he works hard and plays a role that fits in this team perfectly. As much as I'm loathed to say it, he should be more than fine in this league. 4

Positively, what it will do is give us the opportunity to balance the midfield better. We currently have 3 number 6's: Skipp, Braybrooke and Hamza. We have 1 number 8: Page. If Skipp goes, we should replace him with a box-to-box number 8. 1

He will lose book value regardless of what happens unless we find someone willing to pay the £15m or so needed to cover it, which I very much doubt will happen. Also losing the value is a good thing as it lowers the fee you need to get to record an accounting profit Edited 3 August by Jimmy 1

I think it will be more of the same, a back pass at all costs even if the defence has spent 20 passes just to get to him. A cone in the middle of the pitch would make the same amount of blocks and forward passes as Skipp. Marti’s Skippmare midfield should’ve been good enough yet they could barely tackle, pass or move forwards with the ball against championship cloggers. Another drain on the clubs resources a where an academy player would have given us the exact same result last season. 1

People judge him as a Premier League player because we paid a Premier League wedge for him while we were in that league. We're not there now and he'll be fine at this level. There is no circumstance where we should be paying for another club to have him.
