Id say it's unfortunately almost certain we are still paying some of the wages. Even the deducted league one wages would be too much for a club like them to take on for a player with such little demand.

they have to pay something for the last year of his contract.   But we also have a loyalty payment to make if we’re transferring his registration. 
as you say, it’s very unlikely that we haven’t had to make a contribution to his remuneration 26/27.

To be clear, I wasn't criticising Matty James. As you both have said, a good player and a good lad. 

 

I was thinking more about where sits in the pecking order for those (not on this site, thankfuklly) who seem to believe it was an honour having him here.
