Choudhury and Chaplin not good enough considering their experience. Neale struggling as well although it is more understandable and he was probably the better of the 3.

I said odd selection, but under normal circumstances those 3 seem to fill the usual roles of a midfield trio of a 6/8/10 but Hamza seemed to be playing furthest forward of all three, the shape was well off.  The 3 you've earmarked fit the bill.

Just realised playing on this pitch is a smart choice, I have definitely seen some League One pitches in poor condition like this

Aluko, McCarthy, Hamza and Souttar did their jobs well.

 

Chaplin looked rusty, but to be expected. Good to see him out there though.

As we are right now he is very likely to be our first choice striker for Notts County

 

But I imagine if we ended up signing more strikers before he would drop down the pecking order

 

If we sign 2 new strikers for example then I would look to loan him out

 

A good scoring record at Under 21 level and a good pre-season would hopefully see him able to get a League Two loan
