However, if people haven’t learned from the ‘we’ll be fine’ season in season out by now, that we need to take this seriously, there is no helping you. No doubt the same people who jump on any comment that offers even a balanced critique as ‘negative’. 
 

I do think that the squad can win games at this level. What I saw yesterday was a team with talent that was playing with the handbrake on. If we release it, with or without Martin, I do think we should win enough games.

 

But to parrot the old we’ll be fine line is just arrogant and ill informed.

The problem with this is the assumption that the creativity is the constant and the goal return is the variable. What if our creativity drops off and we still can’t finish?

I do agree, I was saying to my mate on the drive down that the first 2 results were frustrating, but it's a long season and if we get our act together and climb the table, no one will look back at those 2 results.

 

But then we get that result, so now we're 3 games "we won't look back on at the end of the season"

 

Anything but a win on Tuesday, and we're 4 games "we won't look back on at the end of the season"

 

There comes a point where there's only so many results you can write off before they actually affect your end position. We can't be throwing away endless points and with the opposition we have faced, being at least 2 of the weakest teams in the league, we should be on 9 points.

 

I would have more understanding if we've lost to bad decisions, or bad luck, or those games where the ball just won't find the net....but we haven't...We deserve to be exactly where we are and i don't see anything changing against Plymouth -  As much as i hope i am wrong.

We are in a season of consolidation  after 3 or 4 disastrous campaigns.We are sorting ourselves out financially.

Avoiding relegation is the main target and play offs would be a bonus.

New owners incoming and the upward journey  will begin.

If the target is staying up; financially we are screwed (we’ve spent £6m this summer and will still have a wage bill what dwarfs the other 22 clubs (Wednesday excepted)) and the purchase of the club becomes more difficult

Totally agree,this is a low point in our history but we will be on the up very soon.Hopefulky back in the championship in the next few seasons.Then push on

Honestly you're all as bad as each other. The people who say we'll definitely be fine because yesterday was loads better are as daft as the people who refuse to see that yesterday was loads better.

We still have the specialists in relegation in charge of the club. It’s hopelessly naive to think it can’t possibly happen again.

 

Our manager has won 2/25 of his last league games. The club has won 4/25 league games.

 

We have a squad that’s very young, has no depth at all along with lots of turnover. 10 games, 20 games these issues remain.

 

We won some games at the beginning of the season last year but we were poor, we scraped past 10 man Sheffield Wednesday with two set piece goals from CBs. So far we have 2/9 points from three teams tipped to struggle.

 

So spare me the it’s only 3 games bullshit. We’ve had one decent performance so far and yet again we have the most expensive team, highest wage bill and some of the very best players.

And what about the £50m+ we've made in sales this summer (with more likely to come in the next two days?)

 

Clearly there are debts that need to be paid off.

 

But the experience of the last two seasons should tell us the consequences of a self-imposed embargo on signings.
