I've just cracked open a can of the finest to celebrate the birth of a new Leicester City.

This is the man for me!!!!

he gets his teams playing as a unit, with real passion, desire and heart!!!

he wanted a move back to club football with Pompey and could do a great job IMO I would also be quite happy for him to manage Nth Ireland on a part time basis as well!!!

NO BLOODY WAY... I'd rather have Carlton Palmer.

The board cannot even think about taking any wasters like Peter Reid who has yet to go to a club without relegating them.

We must either take somebody already in a job or somebody with a decent record. Unfortunately I have not heard anyone with this to their name interested yet.

p.s: I wish everyone would stop being so melodramatic over Levien, look at our position and the direction we are heading!

You complete plonker. Get your facts right about Reid.

Guys if anyone has TD's email address can we please flood him with e-mails to say NO TO REID! It could be even more of a disaster with him! I agree that experience isn't that essential right now, we need some one with some **** passion and even better someone with a passion for Leicester!

Taylor juggled England with us and look what happened, similar with Mcclaren now and England.

No thanks, I want a man in charge whos fully committed to managing Leicester City Football Club.

Yeah he kept Sunderland up in the fist division when he took over and Leeds in the Premier

...although he did then proceed to take them both down.

If there were 26 games instead of 16, I think we would have waited for a bit longer for CL to sort it out, but we have to do something now, because 16 games may be *just* enough for someone to turn it around, anything less than that and we would be gonners.

He only got Sunderland relegated from the Premier League. He then got them promoted again. He did not relegate Man City, Leeds or Coventry. Hardly a factual post was it. I fear there is going to be a lot of ill-informed cobblers spouted on this forum about all and sundry before we appoint the new man.....

I disagree, I've got a soft spot for the guy, don't ask me why but he always seemed to talk sense. He would get us fighting for our lives i'm sure.

Bring Walshy back as a coach. We need a motivator right now and there isn't a better candidate. I think he'd jump at the chance to come back.

How do people know who or who hasn't got passion for this club?

ANd why do people think just because Gary Mc or Colin gibson (FFS) played for us that they have passion for LCFC, after all we were just a stepping stone in the career of Gary Mc, did he pop along and put money in the club when we were on the brink to demonstrate this passion people seem to be seeing.

Besides there's 20k + people out there who have passion for LCFC including me it doesn't make us potential managers.

We are in deep shit, we need more than passion sure it's nice to have it, but a 'good' manager is some one who has the tactical nuance and a passion for football - period. That's who we want not some dewey eyed LCFC supporter/fanatic.

Well why did you just suggest it then? :P

I don't mind if he was brought in in some kind of consultency role or something along those lines, but we need someone clever at the head of the team, and no disrespect to Walshie, but he didn't seem the cleverest of types...

Hardly factual?? He got sunderland relegated what is not factual about that?

Did he not then get the sack at sunderland the season they were relegated for a second time from the premier? Maybe he wasn't in charge but it was his doing.

He was in charge of Leeds for most of the season they got relegated? Maybe he was not in charge when they actually went down as that was eddie gray. But that is like saying Levein takes 0% of the blame if we go down this seaso!!!

Technically, Reid oversaw one relegation with Sunderland.

He then was manager for the season they were relegated second time round, but was sacked earlier in the season. That's when Wilkinson and Cotterill took over - Sunderland ended the season with just 19 points, a record low. Not all Reid's fault, but it wasn't surprising given they only escaped relegation the season before (The season we were relegated in 2001/2002)

He took over at Leeds to save them from relegation - which he achieved. He was then given another season, which saw him get off to a bad start, and was sacked again (They lost 4-0 to us). Leeds were subsequently relegated that season along with us. (2003/2004)

He then took charge of Coventry, where they were only too glad to get rid of him. MA took over and kept them up.

I wouldn't want him here as manager, thankyou.

The guy at Barnsley - Ritchie. He's ya man.

He was crap at Oldham. He's only been at Barnsley for a short time.
