Babylon Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 Heard it today, not sure on it yet. I do like Embrace but it's different, think it's going to be a grower. I like embrace.... but it just seems a bit, well shit to be honest.
Ric Flair Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 I like embrace.... but it just seems a bit, well shit to be honest. I'm not sure on it, the only saving grace is that the chorus seems like it could be very catchy. The rest of it I couldn't really understand proerly, I think i'll need a lyric sheet
stulcfc Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 heard it today i think its one of the crappest songs i have ever heard to be honest
Babylon Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 Its a grower Just thought that after the 2nd play... it won't be chanted... but how many ever have been?
Chimp Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 I think it's a nice tune. Good chorus that sticks in your mind, but, yes, definitely not one that's going to be sung on the terraces or become any sort of anthem.
LCFC UK Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 Just thought that after the 2nd play... it won't be chanted... but how many ever have been? True. Best one has to be Badiel and Skinner

Dr The Singh Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 Chose the wrong bad to do the track me thinks!!! Should have chosen, Oasis, Gorila's, Kiaser Chiefs or even Take That
Libertine Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 Chose the wrong bad to do the track me thinks!!!Should have chosen, Oasis, Gorila's, Kiaser Chiefs or even Take That Why have they never done one? They'd be perfect...........well, maybe not now, but a while back.
Guest Gist Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 Heard it a few times now, it is a grower defo and I think it could be sung on the terraces especially the chorus.
Babylon Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 Chose the wrong bad to do the track me thinks!!! Should have chosen, Oasis, Gorila's, Kiaser Chiefs or even Take That Perhaps because none of the above wanted to??????
Phube Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 Just heard it and..... Hmmmmmmm Not very good!! How are you supposed to sing along, it just kinda goes along very drolly!! And there's not one mention of England or Football for me!!!
Matt Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 Its a good song, Like it, but its not a football anthem! And on that note out comes the Jumpers for Goalpost's CD with all the football anthems on.
Cat Burger Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 Come back to what you know is the only good Embrace song.
Matt Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 Come back to what you know is the only good Embrace song. I Gravity
Newcastle_Fox Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 JUst heard it and my opinion is it is shite! Official England world cup song needs two key ingredients the worlds england and football in it, this song has neither! Shite!
Flemmish Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 'All you good good people' was quite uplifting. Or has everyone forgotten that? I think people are also forgotting that football songs are supposed to be naff. Typical New Order being awkward and doing a good one has meant that bands are striving to reach those dizzy heights of near perfection, and fail miserably. Unless you cringe as soon as it starts, it ain't a footy record if you ask me. Come back to what you know is the only good Embrace song. I brought the 'Fireworks' Album yesterday with these two songs On the World Cup song, I like it, but it's not really a football anthem.
martyn Posted 21 April 2006 Posted 21 April 2006 Embrace are the epitome of bland dull indie, deserving of a place alongside bands like Athlete and Snow Patrol. That said 'All you good good people', 'Come back to what you know' and 'You're not alone' are ok songs.
The People's Hero Posted 22 April 2006 Posted 22 April 2006 Embrace are the epitome of bland dull indie, deserving of a place alongside bands like Athlete and Snow Patrol. That said 'All you good good people', 'Come back to what you know' and 'You're not alone' are ok songs. I quite like Now You're Nobody, Ashes, Gravity and That's All Changed Forever as well as the above mentioned. They are bland though. Not quite as bland as Athlete or The Lighthouse Family but I think they'd like to be.
