What's your favourite from the above list? You missed out Euro 92 That were great, that were. Italia 90 for me by the way. Such iconic players and moments.
Ric Flair Posted 3 July 2006 Author Posted 3 July 2006 Italia '90 and Euro '96 They are my two favourites, it's a shame it's over 10 years since the country can be proud of their footballing nation.

Shum Posted 3 July 2006 Posted 3 July 2006 Euro 96 for me. The performance V Holland was fantastic, and the whole country was rocking!

The Euros are alright but it's not a world cup is it. 4 years to wait till England play in one again, and even that it will be in the "heat" of South Africa, and they will just get trounced, also the next time the WC comes around half the team is going to be retired or well into their 30's...... We were suppouse to win this one.........sour. and ill be 25 going on 26 next world cup that doent bare thinking about, oh hold on even worse, I will quite possible be 30 when we are next in a postion to actually challenge to win one....fooken ell.
hairy Posted 3 July 2006 Posted 3 July 2006 Italia 90. Has to be for me. Great event at a great time in my life.

Yes, the heat of South Africa. Especially since it's during their winter.

There were 6 european teams in Quarters of this WC and the Semis are all european, to me that makes the next European Championships almost as big as WC. Euros are forgotten when England do badly (Euro 2000) but looked upon in the same way as a WC if we do well (Euro 96).
Manwell Pablo Posted 3 July 2006 Posted 3 July 2006 ' date='Jul 3 2006, 03:15 PM' post='344761']Yes, the heat of South Africa. Especially since it's during their winter. Clever boy. Still averages 25c during the day in most places though doesn't it Dexter . Quite a bit more then ur average German summer some would say.
Daggers Posted 3 July 2006 Posted 3 July 2006 Euro 96 was the first time you could fly a cross of St George and watch football without everyone assuming you were a violent right-wing idiot. I think it marked a whole sea-change of perception of how we approach tournaments...bit by bit the retards that smash up town centres at home and abroad are being marginalised.

The People's Hero Posted 3 July 2006 Posted 3 July 2006 You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows..
Alexikokopops Posted 3 July 2006 Posted 3 July 2006 You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.. The pump don't work cause the vandals took the handles. True story

bigneville Posted 3 July 2006 Posted 3 July 2006 You can't beat the buzz from the Shearer and Sheringham era of Euro 96....
Guest Gist Posted 3 July 2006 Posted 3 July 2006 By the things I've heard Italia 90 sounded like it was quite good.
