OriginalRobboFOX Posted 10 November 2006 Posted 10 November 2006 Birch acting a tw*t.... Never. Was he talking nonsense to people and then blabbering out their first names really loudly expecting a reply??
Master Fox Posted 10 November 2006 Posted 10 November 2006 Birch acting a tw*t.... Never. Was he talking nonsense to people and then blabbering out their first names really loudly expecting a reply?? Sort of but to the fans while he was playing. Mandaric got fed up with him making his football team into circus so he banned him for a few games.
Nationwider Posted 10 November 2006 Posted 10 November 2006 Mandaric will probably pull out though if the club piss him about and I don't blame him. From a purely selfish view, it's a good deal he's offering and why should he wait around whilst the board pimp our club. When they didn't manage to get any interest from anyone until the Milan Mandaric rumours started. Unless, Andrew Taylor deserves a bit of credit. Perhaps he's managed to drum up some interest. I think Xzibit would be better qualified to do this. Take this and run with it, kids! Pimp My Team, more like.
teblin Posted 10 November 2006 Posted 10 November 2006 He did say if its not done by xmas he will pull out!
Jon the Hat Posted 10 November 2006 Posted 10 November 2006 He did say if its not done by xmas he will pull out! Yeah, but people say things and people do things. It's like buying a house - when you are 3 months in and you get a delay of a month you are still better off waiting if you want it.
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 November 2006 Posted 10 November 2006 He did say if its not done by xmas he will pull out! Christmas is a long way off, more than enough time for the board to have a look at all the options and decide.
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 November 2006 Posted 10 November 2006 Just read a very bizzare piece in the Coalville Echo about the LCFC takeover, obviously it's not very detailed but I quote "One thing is for Sure , Leicester City will have new owners one way or anohter" Hmmmm

Manwell Pablo Posted 10 November 2006 Posted 10 November 2006 So it's definitely going to be a foreign owner then. I dunno take as you will, I wouldn't trust the Echo as far as I could throw Mark De Vries. Intresting though.
Bert Posted 10 November 2006 Posted 10 November 2006 I think Ric was getting at your spelling of "another" Manwell

Ric Flair Posted 10 November 2006 Posted 10 November 2006 It was a very poor joke anyway, so don't worry Manwell.

Lineker's Left Foot Posted 10 November 2006 Posted 10 November 2006 The current board are so inept and worried that they won't get all of their money back from their investment. Well fans like me paid £400 to put my money into shares so many years ago and I never received a penny of it back when we were released from being a public company. The board should in the least cut their losses and let Mandaric plough as much money in as feasible !!
Simon Posted 10 November 2006 Posted 10 November 2006 If the board is so interested in finding the 'right man for the club' and 'don't expect a return for their investment', why don't they waive or at least reduce any fee, that Mandy (or any other buyer) might pay for the club, on the proviso that the amount that would have been paid gets made available for buying players, investing in infrastructure etc? Why? Because all this bollocks about 'finding the right man for the club' is just that- bollocks. They want to extract as much money as they can from him- simple as.

How do you know they wont, the shareholders don't yet know the details of the bid, only some of the board do. Let's wait and see what they do before you slag them off.

Let's wait and see what they do before you slag them off. It wasn't a slag off. If thats what they want to do, thats up to them, I just wish they'd come out and say it. Mandy's had to match what they put in at the beginning. To me that at least shows to me that they ARE bothered about the money.

Mandy's had to match what they put in at the beginning. To me that at least shows to me that they ARE bothered about the money. If he doesn't put a certain amount in through equity, or buy the club for a high enough price, the club takes a risk and Mandaric doesn't. Whether they're concerned about their wedge or not should be irrelevant - Mandaric should pay enough so that his reward is dependent on our success.

The board should in the least cut their losses and let Mandaric plough as much money in as feasible !! That's because we were shafted by the then board, who abused their power big-time. Power that WE gave them. All the more reson to insist on safeguards and guarantees with this takeover, especially from someone with the track record that Mandy has. PS The Inland Revenue give tax rebates on lost shareholdings..
Jon the Hat Posted 11 November 2006 Posted 11 November 2006 PS The Inland Revenue give tax rebates on lost shareholdings.. But probably only for 6 years, so you might want to claim it this year if you haven't already!
Shipman Out Posted 11 November 2006 Posted 11 November 2006 Taylor said: "The perception that this is the only option open to us is thoroughly misleading and extremely unhelpful. "His (Mandaric's) is the only bid on the table, but you have to remember that we were out there talking to credible third parties about an investment in the football club, including existing investors. "A week is a long time in football and I am pretty convinced that, in the next week or so, we will have alternatives. This is very scary this is our incumbent chairman and should be a warning for us all!, everybody who is behind Manderic must make it vocally clear today, let the national press hear it leave the club in no doubt what we want is Milan. Back Rob Kelly, Back the Team and Back Milan...today is our oppourtunity lets not waste it
Lets Be having You Posted 11 November 2006 Posted 11 November 2006 Milan Mandaric will discover a week today whether his £25million takeover bid for Leicester City has been successful. The 48 shareholders will discuss his proposals at an extraordinary general meeting on the morning of the Championship match against Preston North End. The historic meeting will take place at the Walkers Stadium, making it an even bigger day off the pitch than on it. Mandaric, who is out of the country at the moment, says all he can do now is wait for the City board and shareholders to either accept or reject in principle a bid which appears to have overwhelming public support. The Serbian/American businessman said: "There is nothing more for me to do at the moment, and it is entirely up to the board and the shareholders now. "The negotiations have gone very well and I am optimistic that my bid will be accepted, although the club say they might have alternatives to consider. "I don't know what these might be. All I can say is that they know what I am proposing and, from what I feel about the people I have dealt with, they are committed to doing what is best for the future of the club. "They will do what they think is right and, if everything works out, I will look forward to working with them to bring success to the club, which means getting back into the Premiership where I think the club should be." The vital importance of this epoch-making, or breaking, decision is not lost on anyone, least of all the prime mover in the negotiations, City chairman Andrew Taylor. In his programme notes for today's Championship match at home to Plymouth, he writes: "The next phase of the future of Leicester City is likely to be defined in the coming weeks. "The club has passed from private to plc ownership and back again in the past 10 years. "Just three years ago, a community of local investors, Leicester City fans all, dug deep and saved the football club. That may sound all rather grand but that's exactly what happened. "They want what is best for Leicester City. "They acted selflessly in 2003 and you can be assured they will do the same thing when they meet to discuss the options available to take the football club forward." well a good home win and a new owner, great xmas present
lcfc_jme Posted 11 November 2006 Posted 11 November 2006 From the Merucury right?? I hope that the shareholders vote Mandaric in. They'll have a LOT of angry fans to deal with come Saturday evening (which is when, I presume, a statement will be released) if they don't
lookwhaticando Posted 11 November 2006 Posted 11 November 2006 Flippin' 'eck. Hopefully we'll have a good day all around next week, then.
