Babylon Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 If this is true then it is an offer you CAN refuse and the board will certainly reject it (IMO) Agreed, at the end of the day money doesn't guarantee promotion. If we didn't get promoted in the next 3/4 seasons what happens then? The club would just be lumbered with £15 mil outstanding on the stadium and £20 to MM. You could in theory pay off the stadium with 15 of the 20... but then we would only have 5m to last us until we got up. Which could obviously not even happen!!! Complicated.
davieG Posted 3 November 2006 Author Posted 3 November 2006 I'm not for one moment suggesting that we're guarenteed a place in the prem due to Milan, but you have to admit, its going to be easier to build a quality side with money like that avaliable, than it is in our current situation. And if we don't make it, we'll still be in the Championship, still not own the stadium, owe MM £20mill, probably paying players, who have failed higher wages. The deal is all about shit or bust, with bust being the most likely option.
Ric Flair Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 We've been shafted in the past by people with a lot BETTER track record than Mandaric. That's how we ended up in administration! So The Foxes Trust have basically told us that Swedging is telling the truth, which means that Mandaric will not be coming as the bid will be rejected because quite frankly that bid sounds too dodgy for our shareholders to agree too. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. The dreams are shattered once more.

I'm desperate enough to consider the american bids, or even the local one, which infact was made by me!! (gotta see the funny side, otherwise i will really cry)

Well if he's determined and as shrewd a businessman as we are led to believe he will be back, these guys don't get rich by being generous but they are realistic.

davieG Posted 3 November 2006 Author Posted 3 November 2006 Following Wolve's recent statement, thats where he'll be getting rich A 25m bid is dodgy? How? Why? I hope the shareholders havent messed this up Because it's said to be £5mill for the shares and a £20 mill loan, not what I'd call an investment. He's in effect putting in less than the original shareholders who put in over £6mill in hard cash. MM is effectively getting the shares on the cheap and just loaning some money ( at what interest?) instead of putting it in the bank. It's a wank offer and insulting to all the fans he's creaming over.

I apologise to everyone yesterday for my over the top moaning, i've yet again believed stories from the media. £25 million sounds good, but when you break it down like that it's a shocking offer. I would like to hear Milan's plans if this deal or a slightly better deal is accepted. So what are the alternatives? Are there any?
Louise Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 So either we get 20m more debt or sell to the Tigers?    Why is life so shit?
The Don Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 This was always the way it was gonna be. Everyone knew that he's not doing it to make a loss. He always wants his money back. £20m loan is fine, all we need is guarantees in that he wont pull the loan back in on short notice and default that loan. He's not a benefactor who'll plough money into the club for no return, as long as he gets his money bcak, with low interest (maybe, prob cheaper than teachers). In effect, he is putting £25m into the club, just with guarantees in that he gets it back at some stage. We will not get a benefactor at this club, and all other investors interested will be investors as well.

Ultra, must be recovering from all the champagne he's been drinking, celebrating!!!!
Ric Flair Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 Ultra, must be recovering from all the champagne he's been drinking, celebrating!!!! I've forgot about that rascal. He can come and have his 2 minute party another day. Anyway it's not over yet, i'm just fearing the worse so any positive news to come out of this will be a billy.
Babylon Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 But atm we are going nowhere anyway.. surely if milan comes in, 15m to the stadium and 5m for players, whats wrong with that, we dont get 5m on players everyday do we? What's wrong is we could end up in exactly the position we are in now, except we owe him 20m instead of the 15 we owe Teachers. Paying players we can't afford on top of it.
gatesheadfox Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 if mandaric's bid turns out to be as shit as suggested, at least it may have generated interest from other parties to invest in us with a half decent bid. mandy obviously sees it as a case of "i give you the money now, we do good and you give it back" with no sense of if it all goes wrong. i hope there are crossed wires and the bid is actually better or one of the other parties comes up with something reasonable

If you will settle for a benefactor and nothing less, I suggest we just pack it all in now.

The People's Hero Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 Exactly, what were people expecting? You have to remember Fezzler, most people are stupid. We, my friend, are swimming against the tide. And what's more, we look bloomin' good too.
Katy Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 I can't cope with this anymore, I feel sick I want to get off. Someone give us something concrete to cling onto...please

Swedging Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 So The Foxes Trust have basically told us that Swedging is telling the truth More properly, hinting that my speculation wasn't too wide of the mark. But if you want to look on the bright side, that is always what his deal was going to be. It's how things were structured at Pompey, after all. And, if the Wolves fan in yesterday's Mockery was right about Hayward being willing to give Wolves away to someone who was prepared to put money into the club, the reason he didn't get Wolves.
Daggers Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 * Football is a business * Rarely do multi-millionaires buy clubs and throw money at them simply out of love * Mandaric and the board are simply in the process of playing a game * The media is used to manipulate YOU in order to put pressure on the other side * Unless the board or MM categorically state a fact - it remains rumour and conjecture * The whole process will be protracted This is the way of the big bad world people! The way some of you are carping on about MM is like you never promised a girl you wouldn't cum in her mouth.
Swedging Posted 3 November 2006 Posted 3 November 2006 I can't cope with this anymore, I feel sick I want to get off. Someone give us something concrete to cling onto...please Perhaps the rock-crushers will be able to mix you something up...
