It's biggest fault is how it starts documentary style and then complete jumps out of that before finally returning to it.

I agree. Certainly if you can focus on the character and let the method of production go, it makes the film much more enjoyable. I'd heard about the style change before I went to see it and made a conscious choice to ignore it, made my evening much better

I didn't feel annoyed that I'd spent £12.50 on a ticket and some popcorn so that's a thumbs up from me!

Watched 'American movie' last night, its a documentary about this truely hapless film maker trying to make his horror film, its just brilliant and so funny if you haven't seen it please check it out.
