What was the Bond film with Connery in that was a breakaway Bond film? He was in a retirement home and a load of heavies were sent in to kill him?

Never say never again. Basically it was a remake of Thunderball as that was the only book they had the rights to.

Could we have a synopsis of the plot, and the good and bad points?

I initially thought that was the point but it's turned into a list.

Lake Bell does half decent British accent. Simon Pegg plays Simon Pegg. Convoluted plot about girl meeting guy on a blind date. Crazy night. Romantic gesture. Happy ending. Half funny. Ophelia Lovibond makes my winky excited.

The Stanford Prison Experiment

Quite interesting 7.05/10

There is a fictionalised version of it with Adrian Brody and Forest Whittaker in it, the film is called The Experiment. I have not watched it myself as it does not have subtitles but it might be worth a go for you.  I really rate Tye Sherdian when he was in Mud and have been following his career since so I am planning to watch The Stanford Prison Expermient at some point.

Thanks mate, might have a watch of that.

Sheridan plays quite a downbeat role in Stanford but he gets plenty of screen time.

I really wanted to love the new Bond movie, was willing to enter the theatre without any preconceived ideas.

Instead, the film let me down. The script, the dialogue, the characters - all lifeless and loveless, an amalgamate of all the elements that make a Bond, yet it doesn't work.

From the cringeworthy opening credits, the constant promotion of foreign places and countries (surely the choice was heavily based on the amount of tax returns available), the poor title song, the in-your-face product placement to the suspension of disbelief (all those plot holes, explosions and overly extended fight scenes shot for their own sakes) and the somewhat irritating cameo by Monica Bellucci, it just won't fall into place.

It's as if somebody put all the Bond pieces into a bag, shook it and out came "Spectre".

And the feature is definitely about 30 minutes too long.

At least Christoph Waltz makes for a good villain and opposition, as always. Ralph Fiennes adds some of the much-needed class.

Still - a challenging idea on paper, ambitious to say the least. Poor execution. You expect an early Christmas gift, but are left with nothing but the wrapping. 5/10.

Personally, I can't wait for Craig making way for a more suave Bond. I liked him better in his pre-Bond days (see Layer Cake, for instance).

How would you feel like if say either Henry Cavill or Tom Hardy was the next Bond?

Bonds tend to alternate between thugs, Connery, Dalton, Craig and smoothies Moore and Brosnan. We're due a smoothie so Cavill would fit the bill better.

Everest. yawn 5/10

made the mountain look like a nice stroll up snowdon in winter for the first half, then suddenly its all vertical on the way back. major events not explained properly and it felt rushed and disorganised, i had to read a wiki to fill in the gaps.

Going to watch Black Mass with Jonny Depp tomorrow (well not actually WITH him obviously lol )

Can't see any reviews on here but they seem mixed from what I've read elsewhere.

So Black Mass was very average. Only me and the bread knife in the place this afternoon so suggests it's no blockbuster. Jonny Depp was good but his make up was just bizarre and he looked very odd. Benedict Cumberbach didn't fit his part for me and his accent was well dodgy. Interesting story based on true events but certainly no Donnie Brasco. 4/10
