Nationwider Posted 27 November 2006 Posted 27 November 2006 I have to organise a stag weekend sometime in spring '07. The stipulations from El Groomo are: Mainland UK-based Two nights away Around a dozen participants Not in London or Leicester Does anyone have any good ideas for a venue and/or activity ideas? I've got a few places in mind, but could use some more ideas. Please mark sensible ideas with a nod and frivolous ideas with a wink . Failing that, please post on any other topic of your choosing.....
dandannieldanok Posted 27 November 2006 Posted 27 November 2006 Booze Cruise I kno its not UK but surely you can pop over the channel?
Bert Posted 27 November 2006 Posted 27 November 2006 Gerrup Blackpool! Or go Plymouth if it happens to be the 9th of April as Leicester hapen to be playing there that weekend!!
Guest Posted 27 November 2006 Posted 27 November 2006 Newcastle is supposed to be good. You could do one night round the city centre, and one night in Whitley Bay. For the experience. From what I've seen of Whitley Bay, stag do's is all it's good for, and there should be plenty of slappers nice young ladies willing to make the groom's night.

Shum Posted 27 November 2006 Posted 27 November 2006 We went to Krakow in Poland for my mates stag, it is brilliant! Cheap food, drink, bars and clubs and very nice people and reasonable prices on flights. In about a years time it will become commercial like Prague etc!
davieG Posted 27 November 2006 Posted 27 November 2006 Contrary to popular belief Bournemouth's supposed to be a hot spot
lookwhaticando Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 Contrary to popular belief Bournemouth's supposed to be a hot spot Where young lads in their 20s and 30s go to get up the noses of the retired elderly populous. If that's his cup of tea, then Bournemouth or Eastbourne are where it's at. I'm going to be struck down for that one.
Wycombe Fox Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 I've heard that this place is pretty good (and different!) http://www.spitbankfort.co.uk/

We had a quality stag weekend down in Torquay, about 18 months ago, its memory will live far longer than the marrige itself (which is over excusing legal shite).
Leicfox Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 I live just outside Blackpool, and its great for stag weekends any time of year.

tash_wannabe Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 OK So I'm a lady and have never been on a stag weekend but.....know how to have a good fun weekend....being from Norwich we see a lot of stag weekends there. One idea is to maybe get a boat on the broads for the weekend...you can then stop in norwich and have a night there and also then have a night in yarmouth too. Or just stay in norwich as the city is a great night out....i'm not just being biased! Theres a few lap dancing clubs if it tickles your fancy and supposedly a pub for every day of the year! Also Cardiff is a fantastic for a weekender
kerryh Posted 28 November 2006 Posted 28 November 2006 York - Day at the races and a night in York it's supposed to be a popular place for Stags and Hens!

If you like a night out down Churchgate go to Whitley Bay if you don't... DO NOT. Full of chavy lads, not a nice atmosphere. Newcastle centre and the quayside near the millemium bridge thingy were nice though, some real classy bars.
