breadandcheese Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 To be fair to Low, he just wasn't good enough for the step up, but hopefully will do well at that level. We probably released him on a free rising to 100K should Peterborough win the FA Cup or something stupid like that, but fair play RK for taking the gamble and getting rid when the gamble hasn't worked. I hope Kelly can make an astute signing to push us up the table. I live in hope.
Nationwider Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 100k keeps the adminstrative receiver from the premises for another two weeks at least. Bravo Joshua Low! .... Low beats one, he beats another, the cross goes in.....Benjamiiiiiiiiiiiin! Goal! Tremendous late consolation effort there from Trevor Benjamin. Macclesfield 5 Posh 1.
The People's Hero Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Great, now we can afford the wages for Asaba. Or that joke of a midfielder at age 67 (Farrelly?) we were flirting with. Don't give RK any more money. Please.
jamesw Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Hi all - thought I'd see how you were reacting to this news. You all seem pretty happy to have got rid. How do you think he'll get on a couple of divisions lower? Anyone know anything about the add-ons, and what we've paid upfront? I'd assume the add-ons relate to appearances and/or promotion, rather than international caps or Champions League victories, but you never know. He's played quite a few times for you this season - have they all been at right wing? The posh announcement seems to make a big deal about him being versatile, and Alexander has a habit of playing people in weird positions.

We're glad to see the back of him as he didn't make the step up from League Two! He should do alright 'a couple of divisions lower' because that's where we got him from! Best of luck with him.
Lichfieldfox. Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Hallelujah! Well done Mr Kelly. Now time to convince other teams to take our rubbish.

Well, judging from the forms other Ex-Leicester players have shown after they were transferred, you might just have snapped up League Two's Steven Gerrard!
dan_84 Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 says something about us though dont it when peterbough can afford to pay 100k for a player and we cant even afford to pay a players wages if he came here on loan
jamesw Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Well, judging from the forms other Ex-Leicester players have shown after they were transferred, you might just have snapped up League Two's Steven Gerrard! I wouldn't be so sure - the last bloke we got from you hasn't exactly set the world on fire... As for the comments that posh are splashing the cash, it seems to be true - I make it about £700K in this transfer window, assuming we end up paying LCFC the full £100K. Time will tell if it does us any good though - most of the players we're buying are currently playing in the Conference. Is it true Leicester were about to release Low anyway? If so, it seems a bit stupid of us to have paid anything for him.
Bert Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 'The management really sold me the club and I am delighted to be here. It is a club that really wants to move forward, they are doing the right things and hopefully get out of this league as soon as possible. I know this level well having played with Northampton and I know what is required to get out of this league.'I know one or two players already like Danny Crow and Trevor Benjamin and I am sure they will help me settle in. I normally operate on the right side of midfield, but I can play on the left and have also played down as a striker. I am looking forward to getting started,' This was what the man himself had to say.
Guest Gist Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Great news! I'm surprised we got that much for him which is an added bonus.
dandannieldanok Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 I'd like to meet the scout from Peterborough who looked at Low, what a fool.
Geo V Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 It was probably Barry Fry! Another genuis. All we need now is to send him a compilation of Rab C Nesbitt and they can have a new GK too!!! £400k will do it, £1k for every pound he weighs

To buy someone of Low's calibre straight afterwards is strange.
Asha Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Not sure peterborough realise what they're buying here

I think we intended to keep him unless someone offered money. Doubt we'd have let him walk for free. PS: Just remember who your 'second team' is when Tricky Trev and Likeable Low fire you into League One.
DB11 Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 That's sad With a half decent manager we could have made him a pretty good winger
