Manwell Pablo Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 I hope that Stearman doesnt go and the Ifill rumours are right (to Palace), time will tell I suppose. As for players from Man City, I`d steer well clear of there squad with the exception of Trevor Sinclair. If City sign either Shaun Wright-Phillips back or even Ashley Young from Watford, I would say we have a chance of Sinclair. Ireland and Beasley arent possibilities IMO and the rest arent much cop either. Getting Dickov back isnt the right move I dont think at this stage. I`m hoping these bloomin Prem clubs get dealing (especially from abroad) so they can have surplus players within there squads! The worst thing is they start dealing as the window closes because they wont sell players unless they have replacements!! GET DEALING!!!! Gone through £750,000 That would be Ifill not Stearman
henry's best mate Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Heard from a reliable source in Luton that Vine is in talks with Birmingham and Leicester. He prefers a move to Leicester as his missus lives here. The deal would also include Leon Barnett coming on loan with Stephen Hughes moving in the opposite direction.

Head Honcho Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 I was thinking he'd be a half decent signing last week-spooky!
The People's Hero Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 How can this be true when the takeover isn't even complete? No chance. He's going to Birmingham. The deal is 90% done.
bold_fox Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 How can this be true when the takeover isn't even complete? No chance. He's going to Birmingham. The deal is 90% done. I don't see how the takeover should affect this. RK will still be in the market for players. This sort of deal, i.e. a swap deal could happen.
Brummie-FOX Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 How much would we pay for Vine? I wouldn't want to pay more than 250k tbh. I don't rate him much but it's not too hard to get into the Luton squad.
TrickyTrev Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Vine and Barnett are both shit. There is no way we will be bringing in a centre back anyway. I would be suprised if he was looking to offload Hughes aswell, as he is currently first choice right midfield.
Ric Flair Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 How much would we pay for Vine? I wouldn't want to pay more than 250k tbh. I don't rate him much but it's not too hard to get into the Luton squad. The papers said the other day that Sunderland had bid £2 million for him. Vine and Barnett are both shit. There is no way we will be bringing in a centre back anyway. I would be suprised if he was looking to offload Hughes aswell, as he is currently first choice right midfield. I have always been impressed with Vine when i've seen him. Hasn't he scored about 15 goals this season? Not bad for a 'shit' player at this level. Not worth £2 million however.
Leonisco Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Gone through £750,000 That would be Ifill not Stearman Ah, that'll be why my thread in Generel Sport got deleted.
Geo V Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 Vine is different class but I agree, I cant see us paying seven figure sums for players like him. Good shout Pablo on Ifill. Thank fook for that!!

Yes please, with Edwards gone Vine and Barnett are arguably Luton's best players. Furthermore I would be happy to see the back of Hughes, never fulfilled his supposed potential.

Nicholls, Howard, Edwards, arguably 3 of their best players from last season leaving, and now about to sell top goalscorer Vine.

Nicholls, Howard, Edwards, arguably 3 of their best players from last season leaving, and now about to sell top goalscorer Vine. They must have financial problems, plus Luton are a small club. Just look at the status of the clubs Howard, Nicholls and Edwards have moved to, Derby, Leeds and Sunderland. Yes Luton are ahead of Leeds and not that far behind Derby and Sunderland but you can see the lure of them compared to Luton.

Geo V Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 ...................does this involve Fryatt going to Luton? No but O`Grady is going and we recieve £3m in the deal
Milky Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 No but O`Grady is going and we recieve £3m in the deal don't be such a p.r.i.c.k tease
He's not bald Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 No but O`Grady is going and we recieve £3m in the deal zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Dam there's that alarm clock again
Brummie-FOX Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Dam there's that alarm clock again Now I wonder why we only got 3m for Connolly
Geo V Posted 8 January 2007 Posted 8 January 2007 we can live in hope. This bloody transfer window is inflating prices bigtime though and maybe it will be a godsend to NOT get the money to spend in this window. Clubs who are in Europe or playing for survival in the Premier dont want to sell squad players unless something is coming in. Matt Killgallon, part of the shambles of a Leeds defence goes to Sheff Utd for £1.7m, Anthony Stokes, no one heard of him before Arsenal punted him to Falkirk on loan and he scores loads of goals and now goes to Sunderland for £2m!! Get rid of this pointless window! I dont know how FIFA get away with telling clubs that they can or cant add employee`s when they want and limit it to this crazy month where people panic and buy whatever!

I agree it's the bloody January sales..good job the MM deal didn't go through before Christmas...poor old RK would have been made to queue outside a ground from Boxing Day!

Yeah and then cheeky old Rab would have tricked RK in to signing Elvis from him for £3million. Rab Douglas doesn't even hold Elvis' registration, the sheister!
