Boo Jade Booooo" On fave subjects - "Well on the subject of motoring, probably my second favourite subject after football.. oh and sha99ing..." On his car - "I drive a BMW 330ci for the record, that works in a Terry Thomas kinda way. (Is there a smiley with a devilishly charming moustache a la Leslie Philips?) DING DONG!" On fame - "There is a legend of a well known FT member being seen competing in a "Wheel of fortune" video......" On Whitney Houston - "I wanted to put a post about how avant garde and non-mainstream the readers of Foxy Stalk were...how my eyes had been opened to new and exciting music, how Itunes and similar were changing my life...then I read this guys posts..." On Big Brother viewers - "SAD SAD SAD people.... TURN OFF NOW!" On going to the toilet - "A bit like Singhy, its a retreat more than something that "has" to be done, more of a reference library to pick up and put down for 10-20 mins" On books in the toilet - "mine is like a library. Janx-mate, you're getting my vote in every category next year...some people leave bigger holes behind them than others when they go. Janx was one of those people ~ and that isn't a comment about his weight-loss book not working. I loved your work while you were here and the whole place seems shittier this weekend. I think it is relevant to finish with Janx's view on how to live life: "LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO BE BLAND!! Be loud, proud and have an opinion....be objective, be selective, be an asset to the collective. Yeah but be real to yourself" I'd say rest in peace, but somehow I think you'd prefer to be resting at the afterlife equivalent of a topless casino. We'll miss you Bud.
Flynny Posted 29 January 2007 Posted 29 January 2007 I hesitated to post in here because I'm ridiculously knew and don't think I spoke to him even once, and didn't want to appear disrespectful. I'm posting, in the end, just to say that 36 is ridiculously young, and that my sympathy extends to everyone he knew, however well they knew him, however close they were to him, and however much they're hurting. Particularly when shit things like this happen the fact that there's no meaning, no reason to it all for the brain to make some semblance of sense out of makes it all the worse. Hope you all deal with as well as can be expected.
Robsdee Posted 29 January 2007 Posted 29 January 2007 Deepest sympathy to Sarah, Janx Jnr and all family and friends. Have a lot of good memories of Janx, top man, full of fun with a fantastic sense of humour. This shows how short life can be, a good time to put differences aside, what a tribute that would be to Janx? Keep the bar open mate wherever you are, the first round is on you Love Dee xxxxx
Suffolk_fox Posted 29 January 2007 Posted 29 January 2007 I really can't believe this has happened, and only a few hours after his last post. Very very tragic news, my prayers go out to Sarah and Janx Jnr. Rest In Peace Janx
Katy Posted 29 January 2007 Posted 29 January 2007 That's a smashing post Dave, it brought tears to my eyes. I haven't stopped thinking about this all weekend. Truly, truly awful and a tragic waste of life.
IDEA OR IKEA Posted 29 January 2007 Posted 29 January 2007 I did not know him - only from his posts on here, but after reading all this thread i can tell how sorely he will be missed. Godspeed. Thoughts and Prayers to all the family and friends at this time.

Manwell Pablo Posted 29 January 2007 Posted 29 January 2007 I've never met him and feels strange to feel as gutted as I do about someone I've never met in person, but he was a real charchter, a credit to this forum, a credit to Leicester City, and his family. And thats a great post Dave.
surrifox Posted 29 January 2007 Posted 29 January 2007 Very sorry to hear this terrible news. Sad loss- a true original
Tommeh Posted 29 January 2007 Posted 29 January 2007 Very, very sad news I didn't know him but it would appear a great man has been lost RIP Janx My thoughts are with his family.
Master Fox Posted 29 January 2007 Posted 29 January 2007 Very sorry to hear this sad news. Did not know him in person but like many only from his posts on the forum. He was a real character, had a great sense of humour and was a real top bloke, he will be sorely missed. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

AndyJ Posted 29 January 2007 Posted 29 January 2007 To all of you responding in this thread, I would like to make a very quick introduction of myself - a stranger to this forum. I am...was...no AM, Neil's eldest brother. As he mentioned in one of his replies to the questions somebody has posted, Neil was one of four lads. I was his eldest brother, Andy. On behalf of Neil's other brother's, Mark and David, my parents, and I hope Sarah will not mind me including her, I would like to say how incredibly touched we are by the many many tributes and kind words you have offered. I can say without a shadow of doubt, knowing Neil as I did, that he would have been genuinely suprised and deeply humbled by the amazing amount of affection and fondness shown for him here. I know Neil always tended to go at things "all guns blazing". He was a passionate person with a firm conviction of what he believed to be right and a sense of anger at things he believed to be wrong. I know this particularly, because in this respect we were very much alike. Of the four of us, Neil and I had the closest physical resemblance...not a lot of hair, and a tendency to the chunky side of slim! When we got together there would often be some fiery arguments...we would consider them to be "lively discussions" and both of us could rant for Britain! But behind all that was a chap of incredible sensitivity and emotion. I now live in Finland with my own family but heard of Neil's passing on Saturday morning while waiting in transit at Manchester Airport (dreadful place) on my way home from a business trip to the USA. You can only imagine how devastated I was to hear this awful news. How saddened to miss someone who was not only my "little" brother but a person with whom I identified closely, and who I admired greatly. My heart went out to Sarah and Charlie. It was frustrating to be physically closer to them yet impossibly far away, not being able to break my journey or to be in any state to help. I will not drone on here and bore you all, but I will say that, as most of you know, Neil was a passionate supporter of football, and of course a devoted follower of Leicester City. All I can do is re-iterate just how appreciative we all our of the respect and affection you all show for him. I am sure that your responses will especially comfort Sarah as she tries to rebuild a life for Charlie and herself without Neil. Many many thanks. I am touched to read the words you have written in Neil's honour. With kindest regards, Andy Jarvis, Vantaa, Finland.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 January 2007 Posted 29 January 2007 I think this is probably the first thread on Foxestalk that has made me both laugh and cry uncontrollably, the laughter of course being at some of those brilliant comments from Janx that Dave has resurrected. I only met him the once, at the Crystal Palace game this season. Was sat next to him in the Swan and Rushes. He'd mentioned in the week previously that he was looking forward to meeting me but I was a bit subdued, partly cos I was ill and partly cos every bloody funny thing that I could think of to throw into the conversation, he'd already just said - and phrased in such a way that it got a laugh ten times bigger than anything I would have come up with! Bastard! I could tell though just from those couple of hours that he was a genuinely funny bloke who people just loved to be around. I don't think this place will ever be quite the same again.
James. Posted 29 January 2007 Posted 29 January 2007 Like many others who have already posted I didn't know Neil but felt the urge to post my own kind of tribute to him. I'm sure others do this too but I often find myself forming a mental image of the people that post on here. For me Janx was a larger than life character, someone who's friends and acquaintances would no doubt regard as somewhat of a legend. I also imagined him as a fantastic father, a Dad to be proud with a huge heart. I know this is just my own perception formed over a short space of time simply from reading the words he wrote but I have a feeling my mental image was very close to the truth. That makes this a huge loss, firstly to his family and friends but also Leicester City, the fans and this forum. RIP mate.
Leonisco Posted 29 January 2007 Posted 29 January 2007 Only just seen this thread as I've not been on for a few days but it's a huge shock. Like most who have posted, I didn't know him but from reading his posts he sounded like a great bloke. RIP, mate.
Knighton Matt Posted 29 January 2007 Posted 29 January 2007 Felt the need to revisit this thread again today. I just can't believe how hard this has hit me - having read the awful news last night. This week has seen many personal highs including me becoming part qualified, having an offer accepted on a place in London with a couple of my best mates, and my birthday today. However nothing could compare to that feeling of absolute emptyness when I read the news on here. Having felt like I was progressing with my own life - it's a tragic reminder that life can be taken from us at any time...often in the most unjust fashion. I remember having a drink with Janx after the Crystal Palace game and he was having a go at me for drinking "foreign poncey crap" when I asked for a bottle of Peroni. I managed to convince him to join me and he actually admitted how good it tasted - appearances can be deceptive! Janx mate - Although we only met a handful of times I look forward to the next time and this time I'll have one of whatever you're drinking buddy.
Vardinhio Posted 30 January 2007 Posted 30 January 2007 Deepest sympathies, especially to Sarah and her young child. R.I.P Janx - I personally didn't know you, but you sounded like a passionate Leicester City fan, and more importantly a great guy.
Number 6 Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 thoughts and best wishes to the family, very sad news R.I.P
