We'd like to make an apology to those in N Block...

For our erm, behaviour. Shall not be happening next home game, we assure you!

:dunno::whistle:

Yeah...

Especially to Wils, whose jacket got stained by Sian...

And Riley, who missed the goal because he was tending to Jess being sick in the toilets.

Lovely

Sorry!

No-one looked crap today. Plenty that were slightly poor, but no completely dire performances. Porter hardly got a pass all game. Dunno what's going on there. And Hughes is still not a RM player but didn't look as shocking as he usually does.

Hammond wasn't as crap as people are making out either.

We had almost as many chances as Derby, if not more, Derby's were just more clear cut.

A draw is a good result. And good lad, Fryatt.

Bullshine...Stearman was a disgrace...where the feck was he when Derby scored?

Wouldn't he have just been up for the corner that Kisnorbo should have had the penalty from and if so, presumably, Hughes or Kenton should have been holding back seeing as both are no bloody use in or around the box. But I'll stand correcting cos I wasfuming about the penalty at the time and haven't watched the TV recording.

Generally Stearman was up and down. He tried much harder than Maybury to contribute in going forward but he just doesn't seem to be as fit, incisive or as confident as last season.

Stearman was getting back, but it should have been immaterial. There was no need for 4 of our players to swarm round Barnes and leave that Fag completely unmarked. If Kisnorbo had stook out wide with fagan, he would have never scored.

He wasn't great though, especially after we took a knock in the second half.

Spot on mate.

On 2 or 3 occasions all our defenders ran towards the ball/player in possession leaving others completely unmarked.

What the daily mail thought

Billy Davies did not know whether to laugh or cry as his League leaders took another step towards the Premiership which could have been a stride.

The fiery Scot was quite happy with a point from this East Midlands derby but was furious with his side for surrendering the advantage given to them by Craig Fagan’s opener — allowing Leicester to dominate the second half and reply through substitute Matty Fryatt.

Matt finish: Fryatt celebrates after denting Derby's hopes

And Davies was fuming at an incident in the second half when Leicester’s Danny Tiatto appeared to elbow Giles Barnes but Premiership referee Howard Webb did not see anything.

Barnes had played a crucial part in Fagan’s first goal for his new club midway through the opening half but Derby failed to press home their advantage.

Davies shunned a post-match TV interview, locking the away team’s dressing-room door to let his players know how he felt. He had calmed down enough later to appear pleased with the result.

"We have taken four points from six away from home without leading scorer Steve Howard, so I’m delighted with the draw," he said. "I think this will be a very important point for us towards our target.

"But I was angry at the players because I didn’t feel we were under threat.

"I genuinely felt it was a sloppy goal we conceded. We came off the pace in the second half and allowed them to come back into the game.

"The only other thing that disappointed me was a clear elbow on Giles by Tiatto. I was annoyed because I thought that the officials should have intervened."

The home crowd were just as annoyed when Darren Moore was caught napping at a corner and clambered all over Patrick Kisnorbo, but Webb signalled there was no infringement.

From the ensuing break, Derby’s most fluent move of the match, David Jones combined with Barnes, who sent the defence the wrong way with a neat reverse ball to Fagan, drifting in to the left of the area. A sweet finish beat Paul Henderson.

Leicester stepped up their game after the break and Iain Hume forced Stephen Bywater into a stylish-looking save from a free-kick just outside the area.

Derby defended well, if a little too deep, and Leicester seemed to have few ideas how to break them down until man of the match Jason Jarrett managed to find some space.

He played a neat ball to Fryatt, who had plenty left to do with Dean Leacock and James McEveley in close attendance, but he cut inside to poke the ball into the bottom corner on 68 minutes.

Fryatt had been on the pitch for only 13 minutes and his delighted celebrations showed how much the goal meant after a disappointing season sabotaged by injuries.

Leicester boss Rob Kelly said: "I don’t want to drop into cliches, but I thought it was a typical derby. You can see why they are top but we never pack it in.

"Their goal was upsetting as we spoke in midweek about getting back into our slots when we suffer a disappointment. Clearly, given our reaction to what I felt was a clear penalty, we still have work to do."

He added: "Everyone looks at 50 points — and we’ve got 47 — as the sign you have avoided relegation. It will give everyone a lift when we get there but we haven’t yet."

LEICESTER (4-4-2): Henderson; Stearman, Kisnorbo, Kenton, Maybury; Hughes (Yeates 65mins) Jarrett, Tiatto, Porter; Hammond (Fryatt 56), Hume. Booked: Porter, Tiatto, Jarrett. Scorer: Fryatt 68.

DERBY (4-1-4-1): Bywater; Mears, Moore, Leacock, McEveley; Oakley; Currie (Lupoli 80), Barnes, Jones (Bisgaard 73), Fagan; Macken (Teale 59). Booked: Macken, Oakley, Bisgaard. Scorer: Fagan 23.

Referee: Howard Webb.

Man of the match: Jason Jarrett.

Derby 1

It was at the Walkers Stadium two years ago that Derby County last missed breaking a club record for away wins in a season and yesterday, as again they delayed the chance to tot up a thirteenth win on their travels in one campaign, Matt Fryatt did his damnedest to ensure that these East Midlands rivals will do battle in the same division next season.

The Leicester City substitute, only recently returned from an ankle operation, had been on the field for 12 minutes when Jason Jarrett surged forward from winning a tackle in the centre circle to feed the ball through. The former Walsall striker had plenty to do, however. Running wide, his expert touch allowed him to come inside Darren Leacock and hit a left-foot shot past Stephen Bywater.

It was a fine goal, Fryatt’s first at the Walkers Stadium for almost a year, and prompted Leicester to enjoy the better of the second half after Derby had threatened to extend to five points their lead at the top of the Coca-Cola Championship.

Instead, Birmingham City, who can go top today, and Sunderland will take encouragement as they enter their winnable home matches against Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively this afternoon.

Leicester are probably within three points of safety now and Billy Davies believes that his Derby team are one point nearer automatic promotion. After last Saturday’s win away to Barnsley, they will go into Monday’s match at home to Coventry City well placed and with Steve Howard, their leading scorer, available after suspension.

With 24 hours fewer to recover, Sunderland visit Southampton on Monday and Birmingham travel to Barnsley. “Four points from a possible six, away from home, without our top striker keeps us in line to reach the points target I feel we need,†the Derby manager said. “So I’m delighted with a point, although I’m disappointed we came off the pace in the second period.â€

Some of the inter-passing and movement off the ball by David Jones, who was back from a calf injury, Darren Currie and Giles Barnes was a delight to behold in the first half as Derby capitalised on some early fortune to show why they have amassed such an impressive away record. The luck fell their way when Darren Moore was not penalised by a penalty award for dragging back Patrick Kisnorbo as the pair jostled for a corner.

As Leicester looked to Howard Webb, the referee, for a decision, Derby broke with intent and Barnes played a delightful pass for Craig Fagan to cut in and side-foot his first goal since signing from Hull City for £750,000 in January.

This was a physical derby and not always restricted to the high-spirited variety. Moore was fortunate to remain on the field when he appeared to place a forearm into Iain Hume’s face in the 29th minute, while Barnes was left reeling from a similar blow from Danny Tiatto in the second half.

“I thought Humey’s battle with Moore was a good old-fashioned battle,†Rob Kelly, the Leicester manager, said. “It was like a throwback. I thought it was a typical derby but you can see why they’re top.â€

sombody should tell maybury what colour we wear

every time he kicked it they got it

crap

I disagree with you. I thought he had a good game, strong tackling won the ball a lot and was always a good option. Which is suprising because he has been so poor of late but i think he played well yesterday.

Clearly Stermans fault, he was in a good position at the start of the counter attack, running with Craig Fagan, he then tailed off, ball watched, and ran over to attempt to tackle Barnes (who had the ball) who was already being covered by Kisnorbo.

Micky mouse defending.

No it was Kisnorbo that went to Barnes and left Fagan free.

It was Kenton that left Fagan unmarked, I'm almost certain. This isn't a vendetta against DK but I'm sure it was, Kisnorbo was in front of Barnes and Barnes was his man anyway.

Billy Davies may not exactly be wrong about the Tiatto elbow but he's got a nerve complaining about decisions going against him considering that the referee missed a blatantly penalty, missed an even worse elbow from that **** Moore, and that most decisions went against us.

Also, RK is a twat. How on earth could he see that Derby deserve to be top from that performance? They were poor, they looked nothing special at all and tried to sit back on 1-0 lead which came back to bite them in the arse.

I saw the goals on the telly (first time I've seen Leicester on the telly since Mandaric took us over!)

Must say the first goal was a complete joke as far as our defending went.

We had about 4 players just standing around one man, with that Fagan chap in about 2 miles of space to the left.

Hilarity. My dad says it resembled some sort of French wall-building trick - we're in the middle building the defensive wall and the opposition are just waltzing around the outside. It was an awful goal to concede, and the whole defence was at fault (in my opinion).

But on the bright side, what did you think to Fryatt's goal?

Not bad for a player who's been out for god knows how long.

He certainly knew what he was doing.

I approve of his goal very much so. Good finish I reckon.

Also... his goal celebration was clearly aimed at the fans who claim he's a bit porkier now. lol

It did the trick, I'll not call him fat again. :P

Moore and Tiatto get FA charges

Derby defender Darren Moore and Leicester utility player Danny Tiatto have both been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association.

The charges relate to two separate incidents during Friday's match between the Championship sides at the Walkers Stadium, which finished 1-1.

Match referee Howard Webb was consulted by the FA. He confirmed he had not seen the incidents but, having reviewed video footage, stated that he would have shown both players red cards.

Moore and Tiatto have until 6pm on 12 April to admit or deny the charges. A Disciplinary Commission will hear the case on 13 April.

Derby have announced they intend to appeal, with manager Billy Davies saying: "We've put this matter in the hands of our solicitors and will contest it vigorously."
