Jake Ball and Samit Patel have been released by Notts. Could we/should we? Would be great for Hull and Ahmed too.

Jake Ball, still has a lot to offer, though quite expensive. I heard Derbyshire were after Patel.

Wright needs two more wickets and he's got 50 first class wickets for the season. Really impressive and he'll be missed. Replacing those 48 (and counting) wickets at 27 runs apiece won't be easy.

Scrivo has our next highest tally with 37 at 25 so has offered great support and looks to be improving all the time. Mulder had 26 at 18 and Salisbury 14 at 35.

Nobody else really close to respectable to be honest with Finan (8 at 45), Davis (5 at 48), Barnes (2 at 106) and Hull (8 at 67) miles off. Hull is young and clearly promising but the others haven't offered much and when they have offered it they've not done it consistently.

Based on the above Ball would be a no brainer if we are happy with his fitness in my opinion. We definitely need someone.

Also in regards to Scriven if he backs this season's bowling up next season and realises his batting potential as well then I think he'll be getting some of the "bigger" counties interested and joining Patel with a shout for the Lions.

Played against Fatty in a club game maybe 20 yrs ago. May be fat but honestly made the other county pros playing club cricket look like amateurs. Fantastic talent at that age. Even then never turned up for nets (i mean not once) Just shows how talented he was and what he could have achieved with a bit more effort.

Bit cocky. Played then went home.

I'm just waiting for the obligatory tweet sorry, 'X' from Durham ** Following the end of the ODI series against Ireland, Matthew Potts returns for the remainder of Durham's current county game to wipe out Leicestershire's remaining batting resistance" # 12 against 11 **

Probably for the best that we’re not going up lol

To be fair we are missing lots of key players but I agree we're not ready for promotion at this time. Better to build and get stronger and more consistent in the second division. Worcs are going to be whipping boys next season with so many of their best players leaving.

How much does Ball play now with his back complaints? He is a good bowler but how much has he actually played in the last two years?

Not much and that would be the issue and risk in signing him.

It's another quality of Wright, in that he has missed so few games, despite his age. Rare amongst pace bowlers

You called it!

Basically five sessions to try and not lose 14 wickets against their now improved bowling line up.

Absolute farce again.

In other news, Chris Wright's Sussex move is off...

Obviously saw what a bunch of bad blokes they are the other week and thought better of it! Hope that means he's staying...

Blimey, don't recall anything like that happening before. I guess watch this space, but hopefully he'll stay here.

Given he’s from Oxfordshire way, he’ll surely be staying as I doubt he’d have been talking to another club on the sly. Probably doesn’t want to uproot his kids at the age they are.

Richard Rae was saying on the stream that he lives Solihull way and his kids are settled and then commented on rumours that he may have agreed a two year deal here. 🤞

Got an extra few quid so just pay him what they were. Get him in. So fit. Age not an issue. Got 3 or 4 years left I think. If anything he gets better.
