The squad to take on Sussex includes Helm and for the first time this season, Alex Green, even though he didn't play in the recent 2nds match...... probably going for a bit of a work out with Thomas and the lads. Budinger keeps his place and out goes Davey.

I'd go:

Patel

Weatherald

Hill

Eskinazi

Tattersall

Holland

Cox

B.Green

Scriven

Helm

A.Green/A.Patel

The last pick based on conditions and pitch but I'd play A.Green over Hull who I think has been struggling and the continued lack of wickets isn't helping his confidence. 5 man attack means Green can be protected if he suffers the same fate but I think he has a bit about him and could do well.

We bat deep with Green and Scrivo but would tempted to bring in Budinger for one of them at 3 to help ensure the middle order get a platform but don't think we can risk a 4 man attack with the way we're bowling and we don't really have any part timers.

Agreed with this team.

If Alex Green is fit I'd be inclined to bring in the extra seamer.

Yeah I’d agree with Green, he’ll be expensive at CC level as he tends to struggle with length but his height and pace will cause problems and he’s more consistent with his line than Hull. I think Green has a higher ceiling tbh.

Think we need a spinner in there. They’ll want a turning track for Carson.

Plus, doubt we'll drop an overseas unless they're utterly honking in both disciplines.

Shame we've gifted them 2 wickets but they've beaten the bat a lot so the score is probably a fair reflection of play. Don't have massive confidence in the two at the crease now to build on the platform provided by the openers.

Not keen on Hull being binned off for Helm.

3 wickets at 125 and an economy over 5 this season. Career bowling average is 48.

I'm always wanting academy players to do well but Hull has a long way to go if he's going to be a decent red ball cricketer. I felt relieved to see him dropped, hope he goes well in the t20, and with confidence high can come back into the side later in the season.

In sight of a first batting point.if we can get around 320'we are well In this game against a weakened Sussex batting line up

Agreed, looks a lot in it for seam and spin.

Watch them get 600 😂

Got a good technique with the bat set up well. Think he is a decent bowler in the right conditions. Not sure spring in the uk are those conditions though.
