What the **** happened at the Oval?

from the pictures I've seen, the actual pitch is exactly the same colour and with the same grass as the outfield!! Surrey green pitch

I really cannot think of any reason why we chose to bowl first.

Utter lunacy on a day like this, when there are likely to be the best batting conditions of the four days, and a chance to rack up some batting points.

I don't think anyone on this forum would say that the Leics bowling unit is stronger than its batting - do the coaches not recognise this?

If Leics had 500+ on the board first and then bowled, who knows what effect a bit of scoreboard pressure might have...?

Will we ever find out ?! 🙄

Under pressure just to save the game from this position. Can't wait to hear the rationale for the decision at the toss.

Looked at the colour of the wicket and that's it

Had a look yesterday of Leicestershire matches from 1990 we had a bowling attack of Winston Benjaman Chris Lewis Agnew Millns Mullally and Les Taylor along with Gordon Parsons who was a steady bowler. That's an amazing line up to choose from. No wonder Lloyd Tennant who was tipped as a future England bowler barely got a game.

Daffy knocking around as well. Plus Simmons, Wells and Maddy chipping in with wickets.

Parsons actually moved to Warwick to get some cricket our bowling was so good.

1,000 in today. Action on the park aside, felt a really nice atmosphere.

Shame today's showing probably prevents a repeat - or better - tomorrow.

Daffy left in 88 the others joined after 1990.Parsons was back by 1990 like you say he moved to the Bears when he lost his place to Daffy.

My bad I read from the 1990s.
Id forgotten that Milnes and Mullally were there for quite some time before we won the county championship.

Even though 96 and 98 were the glory years 1990 must be the strongest ever bowling attack
