This is summing up the real issue we've got this season. We just don't get wickets when we need to. And don't look at all likely to take 20 in a match. Don't think a combination of draws with the odd loss thrown in is going to be good enough.

To answer my own question looks like he's out of favour.Would be a good loan signing if we could get him back .Vast improvement on Hill and Budinger

He's not injured, but I'd be surprised if he's fallen out of favour given he's scored two centuries in April for them. They're playing Kent on Friday. But he was brought in to cover Will Rhodes, so I suspect at 35 his role is now as squad cover, in and out of the squad for any particular match and not guaranteed a place in the XI. His spin may be useful, but we need first string bowlers!

Like you say he's not injured but hasn't played since game one after barely missing a match in the last couple of years so yes I would call that out of favour.Not sure i would consider 35 that old for a batsman these days.

One final point on Ackers surprised he's not getting a game instead of Clark who's 33 and has a fc batting average of 30.

I’ve not seen much of the game, but is the issue so far the bowlers or that none of the batsmen have gone on and got a decent score like two of Sussex have?

Didn't watch our innings but apparently the umpire don't seem to know about LBW.According to comms Sussex had some plum dismissals turned down as well

Game over I think. Patel is such a waste of an overseas player. Coups get a strike bowler or a number 3/4 bat. It really is the difference. We don’t have enough for this level. Real shame.

Losing Maharaj and Ahmed has done a lot of damage.
