I heard someone say on Sunday that we’re supposed to be signing Dean Elgar and that Patel is off, anyone heard similar?

Hope not, he's nearly 40!

The Telegraph confirming Cox is on the market.

Not surprised given him and Thomas don't get on allegedly

Thought Elgar is still with Essex?

We're desperate for an opening strike bowler, surely a SA could be available given they don't have any upcoming matches. Say Coetzee, Burger etc...

Yeah we really are becoming a bit too Dad’s army.

I'd like to see us try and pick up a couple more players in the Patel and Scriven mould rather than relying on half the side being aging and fading players. Experience has its place but can't have half the XI 33+

Young and hungry players with talent discarded by other bigger counties whom we can squeeze that bit extra out of via coaching and support.

Patel was a promising but inconsistent batter at Essex and we've moulded him into a very solid opener who has stepped up to d1. Scriven was a batting all rounder who was doing well in the seconds but couldn't break into the first team, he's now for my money (when fit) one of our our best and most reliable bowlers and a more than able lower order bat.

Rishi is off at the end of the season. I think he’s a fantastic player, but he clearly needs to play in division one. Huge loss for us. These last few months have been a bit of a disaster if we’re honest

That's where we miss Nico who had an eye for a player and picked up the likes of Patel Scriven Raine  Azad  and Griffiths who was good for a while.Thomas don't seem capable of signing anyone under the age of 30.

No Rehan will be going nowhere while he has a central contract.

Is this official? And any idea where he is going?

Nico did have a scattergun approach to signing players, loved the bloke but we had a massive squad of very average players back then, a smaller squad is better but you’re right Thomas does like to sign aging players.

The Cricketer say he's agreed a deal with Hampshire. Staying until the end of the season.

"I will be forever grateful to Leicestershire for the opportunity and support they have given me – they made me believe in myself," he said. "Time flies, and six years have passed quickly, filled with countless unforgettable moments at the club. At this juncture, I have decided to make a change, but Leicestershire CCC will always hold a special place in my memories.

"It was a tough decision to make leaving a club that gave me an opportunity to play professional cricket. It feels that now is the right time for me to move on at this stage in my career. Leicestershire will always hold a special place in my heart. I have loved my time here as a Fox and couldn't be more grateful for all the support I have had."

He added: We have three months to keep fighting, and I will be trying my hardest to keep the club in Division One, to win the 50-over cup, and make some more great memories."

Claude Henderson, Leicestershire's director of cricket, confirmed that the county had "tried to convince Rishi to continue his journey" with the club, but Patel is believed to have agreed a move to the Utilita Bowl.

Amazing to think about how different things felt when we'd just won the league and signed Maharaj.

Elgar is coming for a season

I know being a Leicestershire fan is hard at the best of times but this really is victim of our own success isn’t it. We need to look hard at the Worcester model

Nico must have signed 2 or 3 duds for every gem he found...

Griffiths, Welch, Barnes, Davis, Sakande, Walker, Dearden, Lilley, Rhodes, Steel, Finan...
