Said it in an earlier post but last season there and the season’s before there was a clear structure at the club. Strong Club captain, head coach, strong CEO. Now it seems like Thomas is managing everything and at best it’s too much for him, a worst he’s sabotaging it. Also really don’t rate Claude either but that’s another tale.

And I think the biggest problem here is that Thomas & Henderson together have so much control.

Cox is in my opinion our best all format player. Patel is also very good but not as consistent.

Agreed. Thomas is a total control freak. Don’t get me started on Henderson.

So the CEO needs to step up and actually take control before it's too late.

Cox is a superb wicketkeeper & a very reliable batsman, it is madness if we don't offer him a new contract. If he leaves it will be very difficult to find a replacement anywhere near as good

It’s the board that ultimately makes the decisions and we may all just be overthinking it. It’s more the structure that seems to be lacking for me. She’s obviously not as visible as the bloke before but also while he had a massive ego and some ridiculous ideas, you can’t deny the club had some clear off field leadership which was reflected by on field success.

I don’t think they will. If Handscomb comes back, he’ll take the gloves with Tattersall around too.

Heard a rumour that when Handscombe comes back next season he won't need to be an overseas signing, which would be very handy!

Going to be interesting to see what happens with Hull.Be surprised if they offer him much more then 1 year .Guess a few other clubs will be interested based on potential even though his stats are shocking.

Also worth noting Hull has a development contract with England that runs out this year and obvs won't be renewed.So we will have to pay his contract in full next season.

He's only 21, there will be a few clubs willing to offer him a contract i'm sure. Personally, I'd be trying to keep him at the club and just get him to keep things simple for now. To me he looks like he's trying too hard and trying to bowl too fast.

 

Young fast bowlers need time and patience, especially if they are very tall and their bodies are still developing like Hull. Just look at the up and down careers that bowlers like Stephen Finn and Boyd Rankin had, who both had similar physical profiles to Hull. It's a shame Chris Wright didn't stay on as a bowling coach, he had so much to offer as a great pro.

22 in a couple of weeks.Agree would offer him a new contract but not sure more then a year.Haven't looked up the stats but can't imagine Finn and Rankin had an average of nearly 50 per wicket  at the same stage in there career.

My point wasn't about comparing stats between those two bowlers and Hull, more that they both had a real breakdown in their actions and confidence at different points in their careers. Finn was notoriously termed 'unselectable' by Ashley Giles in 2014. Rankin had a similarly bad experience playing for England, which shattered his confidence.

I think it’s unfair on Hull. England gave him a development contract and have done absolutely nothing with him except big him up, confuse him and make him overthink as a bowler. In 2023 he was superb, and became a good white ball bowler all the way through 23 and 24. Then England stupidly picked him in red ball cricket which he had barely any experience in (think his average was 80 at the time).  He should’ve played for England that summer but in ODI’s. Now he’s just all over the place because he’s been managed like rubbish by both the club but mainly Rob Key.
