One of Notts and Surrey will go through but they have to really eclipse the run rate. The real fun starts if Lancs and Kent lose as it opens up the door for the other teams on 12 points to sneak in and Northants and Somerset have got much better run rates. The only team totally out of it are Gloucs and they play Northants. Warwickshire and Somerset beating Kent and Lancs would put the cat amongst the pigeons. Great for the comp.

It’s going to take something really magical for Warwickshire though. Somerset have to win for them to go through, but hope that they can surpass Somerset’s run rate, as well Northants to beat Kent and hope they can surpass Northants run rate, which are both better and in the positive,  and then Notts to beat Surrey lol

And Surrey have put Jason Roy in their squad too...

Reckon if Surrey score 250 Notts need to get them in around 25 overs, being at the Oval if Surrey get 300 Notts would need to get them  in around 26 and a bit overs or Surrey need to win by about 200 runs

Ultimately Notts need to win the game and if they lose they’ll be out (which would be funny). So I really doubt they’re going to go out all guns blazing to try and overtake our net run rate, that would be at the bottom of

their priorities. Same with other teams.

Lancashire are batting first also.

They’d need to win by 200+ to have any hope of overtaking us. Nice quiet starts all round which suit us. Hopefully it’ll be pretty clear we won’t be overtaken by 2pm and we can have a restful afternoon.

Both off to a flyer. Hopefully Somerset don’t fold like they did against us.

Looking at the Notts score I think it's fairly safe to say we've won the group!

Well done to everyone at the club a good achievement that deserves to be celebrated in a season dry of success so far!

Also I know it's early days but can I just say a massive well done to claude for signing Shaikh henderson has been getting a lot of stick recently but this looks a masterstroke and mad to think we have him for another 3 seasons at least.

215 is the magic number for Lancashire, according to ChatGPT.

Notts look out of the running already. Surrey would have to win by 289 to overtake us.

Yep so if Surrey get 300 (underestimate), Notts would need to chase in within 32 overs to overtake us. Basically impossible. Any higher than 300 and that over number reduces. Can’t see Surrey winning by 290. Taunton is always a good batting deck and it’s hard to see Lancs getting past the 350+ they’d probably need to stand a chance. I’m confident we’ve done it.

I'm not so sure about Lancs not making it past 350... I'd back Somerset to not get absolutely skittled either way though.

They could get 400 yet so not out of the question.
