dandannieldanok Posted 8 May 2007 Posted 8 May 2007 [i'm not sure whether you want to merge with the recently unavailable/unattached thread but I think it is worthwhile to seperate the two] Anyway: Preston put four on transfer list Preston boss Paul Simpson has placed four players on the transfer list as he continues a shake-up at Deepdale. Goalkeeper Carlo Nash, midfielders Jason Jarrett and Adam Nowland and striker Dave Hibbert have been told they can look for new clubs. Simpson, who earlier released five out-of-contract players, wants a fee for the each of the quartet. However, Simpson is keen to sign Seyfo Soley on a new deal and keep Andrew Murphy, Dylan Adams and Chris McGrail. I think if we struggled to find a decent goalkeeper Nash would do. Just look, we can now buy Jarrett :w00t:
lookwhaticando Posted 8 May 2007 Posted 8 May 2007 [i'm not sure whether you want to merge with the recently unavailable/unattached thread but I think it is worthwhile to seperate the two] I'm electing to leave this one separate, I think it's a good idea. I think we have all aspects of the transfer market covered now - loans, transfer listed players, wish lists and out of contract players.
Flynny Posted 8 May 2007 Posted 8 May 2007 Jarrett would be decent for one of the teams entering the championship, probably. I don't want him here but he isn't THAT bad.
davieG Posted 9 May 2007 Posted 9 May 2007 Burnley boss Steve Cotterill has started planning for next season by releasing four players and placing another on the transfer list. Experienced quartet Danny Coyne, John McGreal, Frank Sinclair and Graham Branch have all been culled from Turf Moor's ranks. All four have played their part under Cotterill's regime but the former Cheltenham chief has decided changes are needed for next term. Cotterill has also placed Garreth O'Connor on the transfer list, after conceding the midfielder is unlikely to establish himself as a first team regular. "Garreth needs to play and he has not done a lot of that this season," Cotterill said. "He needs to get out there, so I had a chat with him at the end of the season an d we have come to the conclusion that we will put him on the list and see what materialises."
Foxhateram Posted 9 May 2007 Posted 9 May 2007 ok several links here, PNE are clearing out, out the players released i dont think id mind carlo nash anyone fancy any of the others? 12FRYATT Posted 9 May 2007 Posted 9 May 2007 Just noticed that preston have released the big keeper Carlo Nash. Again i think he would be a decent signing, very big commanding goalkeeper. I must admit im happy with hendo and logan though. Any thoughts ??
Dr The Singh Posted 9 May 2007 Posted 9 May 2007 I'd ave Frank back any day! What for???? New mascot to replace filbert fox???
Master Fox Posted 9 May 2007 Posted 9 May 2007 What for???? New mascot to replace filbert fox??? Entertainment purposes, Frank is a hero in my opinion, when we moved to the Walkers I was campaigning to get statue of Frank erected just outside the club shop. His football was once described as ‘Poetry’
Mort Posted 9 May 2007 Posted 9 May 2007 Again i think he would be a decent signing, very big commanding goalkeeper. I must admit im happy with hendo and logan though. This troubles me
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 9 May 2007 Posted 9 May 2007 Is Ian Moore any good? Obviously not, if Wise is choosing not to keep him for League One play...
Ric Flair Posted 9 May 2007 Posted 9 May 2007 If we could get Neil Alexander or Lee Camp then i'd go for them instead, but Nash is a good goalie.
Thracian Posted 9 May 2007 Posted 9 May 2007 We need a big, strong and proven keeper for sure. Logan has had an excellent first season and should continue to be groomed as deputy. But a commanding presence at the back is vital for a title chasing side. Logan may well develop that presence more fully - he is big enough for the job and young enough to improve - but if there's better to be found we shouldn't hesitate. Goalkeeper is the one position where players seem to get better with age and expereince.
AyewJoking Posted 9 May 2007 Posted 9 May 2007 Get him in!! Rab cant do the goalkeeping coaching on his own you know!
mancunianfox Posted 9 May 2007 Posted 9 May 2007 If we could get Neil Alexander or Lee Camp then i'd go for them instead, but Nash is a good goalie. Nash isn't bad, but I would prefer Lee Camp if we are buying a keeper.
Lancsfox Posted 9 May 2007 Posted 9 May 2007 Nash is a great keeper, Preston only started to slide down the table when he was not playing
Bryn Posted 9 May 2007 Posted 9 May 2007 The general consensus from Preston fans on Carlo Nash Internal problems, opening his gob, lack of respect for this club and its fans. Lack of respect for the manager and the way he does things, undermining his training and disrespecting his fellow teammates by questioning there quality.A decent keeper at this level, not premiership class however.
Mort Posted 9 May 2007 Posted 9 May 2007 Nash isn't bad, but I would prefer Lee Camp if we are buying a keeper. Ditto... with a decent experianced second choice like Hoult or even Walker.
mancunianfox Posted 10 May 2007 Posted 10 May 2007 England Under-21 keeper Lee Camp will turn his back on a £9,000-a-week pay rise at Derby to join QPR following a loan spell at Loftus Road. (Daily Mail) I really hope that we can get him in, especially as he wishes to leave Derby.
Karnjit Posted 5 June 2007 Posted 5 June 2007 Colchester striker Jamie Cureton has handed in a transfer request. Cureton was the United's leading scorer last season with 24 goals and won the Championship's golden boot award. The 31-year-old still has one year to run on his current contract and it is understood the club have been negotiating an extension with him. Sources close to Cureton have told BBC Essex he is concerned the club's ambitions do not match his and he has handed in a written transfer request. what u guys think?
