Gené and Tonic Posted 19 June 2007 Posted 19 June 2007 If he had any sense he would avoid Sheff U Can't see them being promoted with Robson in charge, they could be deducted points thanks to the dodgey transfer of Kabba.

Sounds to me he's doing his own bit of 'fishing', hopefully we will be subject of the proverbial hookline and sinker! He'd be a brilliant player for us, although he is acting like satans slut bitch at the moment!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 June 2007 Posted 19 June 2007 What a complete **** he is. I really wouldn't be that fussed anymore. He's a cheap tart. Give me a high-class hooker over this twat any day. Obviously I am referring to this Iranian guy but he might not like the comparison given his probable religious views.
teblin Posted 19 June 2007 Posted 19 June 2007 99% of proffesional players are out for either money and/or the want to play in Europes top leagues, he wasnt to go to Derby I don't blame him and if it falls through I'll happily take him here.Seems MA and MM agree me as we've offered him a deal! Would be a great signing, just not keen on his attitude.
Gené and Tonic Posted 19 June 2007 Posted 19 June 2007 Hendrie + Iranian guy + Kishishev + Weso + Hellings would give good centre midfield cover and quality imo, especially compared to last year. Just need Jarvis, Cohen and a decent striker in Oh and a centre back and a left back. Not much then
MBK Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 MILAN MANDARIC is ready to pay Lee Hendrie a staggering £1million a year to join his Leicester revolution, writes BEN KINSELLA. The former England midfielder, 30, has also been tracked by Derby, Stoke, Coventry and Wolves following his release from Aston Villa. But chairman Mandaric has given new Foxes boss Martin Allen £8m to spend — and he wants most of the cash to go on wages rather than transfer fees. And Hendrie will be given a Premiership pay packet of £20,000 a week if moves to the Walkers Stadium. (The Sun) I'd like to grumble but I won't. Waste of money!

To get someone of Hendrie's quality in midfield would cost us about £1.5 million, plus wages. So if we were to pay Hendrie £1 million a season for 2 years, although it's a lot of money. It's still likely to be cheaper than getting someone of similar quality that's contracted to a club. I would be very pleased if the little fooker signed for us.

That is a good point although paying him £20,000 wages may set a worrying precedent for any further "bigger name" signings. Yes we have to pay good wages to attract the right players but I worry that we may end up trying to run before we can walk.
kyleolly Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 So obviously his plan to hold out for the biggest pay out is going to work according to the same paper defender markus heikkinen from luton is set to reject us for rapid vienna
Stevosevic Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 20,000 a week to have the best midfielder in the league if Koumas leaves, which he will, IMO a price worth paying.
Gené and Tonic Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 Mostly on wages reportedly, which is what has happened so far. It's The Sun though..
blue army Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 looks like he would like to play 4 sheffield united then Hendrie has admitted that he would be keen to play for new Blades manager Bryan Robson although he is keeping his options open. "I know Sheffield united have made a few enquiries but I am not sure how strong their interest is," he added. "I have heard a lot about Bryan Robson and the fact that he is a players' manager. He is a legend in the game and to play for someone like that would be exciting." http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...p;channel=&
The Reverend Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 Fu ck me talk about prostituting yourself! When we were first linked to him he said how good it would be to play for Leicester etc etc... Prob just trying to generate interest though really
Blue Bob Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 Fu ck me talk about prostituting yourself! When we were first linked to him he said how good it would be to play for Leicester etc etc... Prob just trying to generate interest though really Lets be fair most footballers are prostitutes they rarely have a buring desire to play for a club unless they can either win something (man utd, chelsea ect) or they are getting the highest wages possible. There are not many players who remain loyal to their team for a long period of time - look at city Walsh had the commitment but not many others have. So Hendrie it just doing what everyone else does - as long as he gives his all on the pitch and is worth £20,000 a week then he will be a good signing.
Charnwood Norris Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 He's what's needed most - an attacking midfielder capable of setting strikers up and netting a few, but Hendrie would not drop down a level if Prem club available (Sheep sniffing) I would've thought, not at his stage of career aged 30 (potential peak). Anyway, I think he's past his peak , he wouldn't have been omitted from the Villa starting 11 of which he was a regular for years, though Stoke didn't do to bad with him last term . He's always seemed like the disruptive child type to me, like Joey Barton.
Cobbo Posted 20 June 2007 Posted 20 June 2007 My mate told me that his mate (who apparently knew Cort was coming long before he arrived) has been informed that Milan is willing to offer lee Hendrie £20k a week to come here...which would take away from buying players as it'll use some of the transfer budget up. Now I thought I would share this and I make no illusions that it is probably all utter Ballack's bollocks and I make no apologies if you're sucked into this mad rumour.
Blue Bob Posted 21 June 2007 Posted 21 June 2007 I think it is in the Star that Sheffield Utd are prepared to offer Hendrie £25K a week. I think we offered him £20K a week.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 21 June 2007 Posted 21 June 2007 I think some people are losing perspective with this Hendrie signing. We shouldn't really be spending £20,000 a week on players.
mancunianfox Posted 21 June 2007 Posted 21 June 2007 I think it is in the Star that Sheffield Utd are prepared to offer Hendrie £25K a week. I think we offered him £20K a week. It must be true then
davieG Posted 21 June 2007 Posted 21 June 2007 I think some people are losing perspective with this Hendrie signing. We shouldn't really be spending £20,000 a week on players. I agree, I don't actually think it's necessary or will it engender a good team spirit, better an inexpensive 'foreigner' I'm sure there must be someone good enough. Wonder how much Kish is on?
ronnup Posted 21 June 2007 Posted 21 June 2007 It must be true then I think Hendrie's head has nearly exploded. There is a reason he's being released by Villa, and although he did play well at stoke I agree that we don't want to be spending crazy wages on him if he's not too bothered about us.
