Nick Posted 8 July 2007 Posted 8 July 2007 By the way, they DO speak English in the US...well sort of anyway!!!) Interesting point- but they don't speak, 'Fowler'. Nobody would understand his accent, nevermind his dry humour.
FilboFox Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 Fowler is not worth £22,000 per week. Giving him that sort of whack over other squad members could cause problems. Agreed... Fowler, as good as he is, would be a leader, but he certainly wouldn't have the team's best interests at heart and would only be playing simply to prolong his ailing career... £22,000... I don't think that we can justify spending that much on a player that is losing pace, skill and finishing ability and would possibly cause disruptions in the team setup... he is pretty hot headed after all...

Exactly...I'm sure MA won't want Prima Donna's in his team...his attitude is all about team spirit and pulling together from what I've seen
maddog Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 Mallorca are ready to offer £1m to Elvis Hammond, that is unbelieveable! Despite having an inconcistent season in the championship last season Mallorca are ready to pay £1m for the Leicester striker. http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=47048
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 No matter where the reports surface I refuse to believe this is true
Thracian Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 No matter where the reports surface I refuse to believe this is true If true it helps show how badly people have underrated him. And I hope it's true because I shall feel 100% vindicated for my belief in the guy.
wirralsimon Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 I don't think RF is a prima donna. When his girlfriend was expecting their first child it reached the press here on Merseyside because he went with his Girlfriend and queued up in the local NHS maternity unit like everyone else and someone asked him about it, and on his return to Liverpool he famously had to be ordered to read his Liverpool contract before signing it. Hardly the actions of a prima donna. A little under-fit and overweight at times but not a prima donna. Still don't think we'll get him though! Simon
Master Fox Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 If true it helps show how badly people have underrated him.And I hope it's true because I shall feel 100% vindicated for my belief in the guy.
The Reverend Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 Actually unbelievable. Cant be true, it really cant.
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 If true it helps show how badly people have underrated him.And I hope it's true because I shall feel 100% vindicated for my belief in the guy. Oh, I hope it's true as well. I would absloutely piss myself, I'd have to book a flight to Mallorca for the first game of the Spanish season just to see Diego Tristans face when Elvis Hammond trots out to play up front with him.
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 By the way, they DO speak English in the US...well sort of anyway!!!) They already have two players over the salery cap so Fowler would be getting MLS basic wage. Or did they get rid of the caps? I forget.
maddog Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 If Hammond's worth £1m then De Vries must be worth £5m. Maybe Barcelona will buy star Leicester defender Alan Maybury for £10m!
Lets Be having You Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 If true it helps show how badly people have underrated him.And I hope it's true because I shall feel 100% vindicated for my belief in the guy. Can i have what your on please thracian,it seems to make, bad look good :worship:
The People's Hero Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 If true it helps show how badly people have underrated him.And I hope it's true because I shall feel 100% vindicated for my belief in the guy. No it doesn't. We paid £5million for Akinbiyi. Doesn't make him a good player. You're a complete clown if you think that transfer fee is always commensurate with ability.
Master Fox Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 This just can’t be true! But if it is then it’s quite astonishing. If we manage get any sort of transfer fee for Elvis then we’re quids in. This actually has be the funniest transfer rumour I think I’ve ever heard. £1m for Elvis
FleckneyFox Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 this definately is untrue you should see some of the other c**p stories on that site. i'd like to get some cash for Elvis but if i was Martin Allen id want Douglas and Hammond out straight away but i think if they dont get reasonable offers for Maybury, Kenton or De Vries they might stay
coale39 Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 I think we should hold out for more like. Around 2m. Hes fast.
Nationwider Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 Tribalfootball.com just regurgitates old news, like an number of other advert-filled internet football portals. They aren't a trusted source. They lifted this from The People, who have lifted it from FootballRhubarb.com or a similar site. Elvis is twenty-six years old and has started 51 league games in his entire career. In league matches, he averages a goal every 10 appearances. Real Mallorca finished 12th in last season's Primera Liga. Somebody help me get from A to B here.....
Vestan Pance Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 Why are we laughing? Levein paid £225,000 for him after seeing how bad he was in a loan spell, maybe there is someone out there even more stupid than him.
Joe. Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 It just seems like one of those off football rumours but when you see on higher profile websites you start to think. How anybody could justify paying £1 million for Elvis is beyond belief. But it's probably just bollocks anyway.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 How any newspaper can believe he is worth £1million is beyond me. Elvis Hammond seems to be The People's Hero.
Joe. Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 If the News of the World was right yesterday, Cardiff were offering Fowler a contract somewhere in the region of £8,500 but with a huge bonus if they are promoted.
dandannieldanok Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 I can't believe some people are actually contemplating this happening, honestly get a grip, this is a JoeB rumour FFS!
The People's Hero Posted 9 July 2007 Posted 9 July 2007 How any newspaper can believe he is worth £1million is beyond me.Elvis Hammond seems to be The People's Hero. Touche. Unappreciated on here mate. Shame that only a select few will even understand it. Still, I enjoyed it and doth my (non-existant) cap to you whilst raising my (also non-existant) glass in a non-spoken toast.
