Milky Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 Look at that. Those ears. My god. Apparently he got locked in the Trophy cabinet for a week whilst at Arsenal as there was a mix up after the FA Cup final. Ah well, it could be worse, at least he doesn't weigh more than De Vries.
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 I cannot see any connection between the two. How much someone might pay to sign Jeffers bears no comparison to what they might risk on Fowler. There are loads of Jeffers but not too many Fowlers. And, like anything of any of quality that is also scarce you're likely to have to pay a premium. For more commonplace purchases you might not be willing to pay much at all. I'd check the phone book before making such a sweeping statement.
He's not bald Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 I'd check the phone book before making such a sweeping statement. As there were 1780 yellow and 103 red cards in the championship last season I think there are more Fowlers!
kyleolly Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 The daily sport reported that hammond was off to mallorca today for £1m it must be true

Basingstoke Fox Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 As there were 1780 yellow and 103 red cards in the championship last season I think there are more Fowlers! Just couldnt resist could you? :: ::
Cat Burger Posted 10 July 2007 Posted 10 July 2007 Fowler signed = one more season ticket sold (to me)
mancunianfox Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 Fowler linked with us in todays Mirror and they have been very good this summer for City rumours: Leicester have joined the race to sign former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler. (Daily Mirror)
Master Fox Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 Fowler linked with us in todays Mirror and they have been very good this summer for City rumours: It's a cert
Blue Bob Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 On the BBC website the FC Sydney have joined the race to sign him.
Blue Bob Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 Sunderland have just agreed a fee of £5 Million to buy Chopra from Cardiff. So Cardiff now need a quality striker and have the funds to get one - Fowler is probably their target and they now have the dosh to offer him some decent money. Bet the Cardiff fans are gutted about losing Chopra though.

Joe. Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 Not sure how serious we are about getting Fowler but I'm fairly certain we want him. When Martin Allen came to speak to us yesterday, one fan asked him about the possibility of signing Fowler and he said that the Clemence/Campbell deal was closer.
eaststandtom Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 Doubt Robbie will be coming to Leicester now as Cardiff have sold Chopra to Sunderland. http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...ike+Chopra+deal We'll see though!!! would Fowler be a good signing? yes. but at the expense of Fryatt coming into the fold more?

Would prefer to keep Fryatt for another season and sign another striker. Do think Robbie would be great mental lift to the side too but not at the cost of Fryatt, a guy who I still have high hopes for..
The Reverend Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007  £5m is ludicrous, Roy Keane is a fool. Its a lot of money for one good season in the Championship. Nugents gone for 6 million!
Ben Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 It just said on Sky Sports News that Port Vale have joined the race to sign Robbie Fowler. It also said that Cardiff have offered him 8k a week and that us and Sydney were also interested.
Blue Bob Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 I know Fowler has invested loads in property and a lot of that is around Liverpool. I guess Port Vale are hoping that he wants to stay in the area. I do think for this reason he will turn down Sydney and offers from America. He is also thought to turn down Celtic and Rangers as he wouldnt be guaranteed 1st team football. I would have thought MM could offer more than £8k a week, and he is likely to get some of it back with ticket sales. Personally I would like to see Fowler at City, he is an excellent goal scorer and at this level I think he would score loads. He hasnt played to much football recently so I doubt his knees have gone. I think the likes of Fryatt, Sappleton and Hume would learn lots from him so this too could only benefit the team overall. If we could add Clemence, Hendrie with Fowler there is a good chance for a push for a top six finish.

Daggers Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 I heard we offered him £23K, a pack of party balloons and a goldfish named Keith.
