Fowler to Leicester - Elvis to Mallorca/Mablethorpe

I think that Arthur and Paulines unknown son will actually join someone for footballing reasons. He has made so much money through horses, houses and footy that he doesnt need to go to Qatar, USA or join some club that is going nowhere. I hope that he looks at the options and realises that we are the most ambitious. The only think to scare him is probably MA and his posts on the OS and threats of jumping off roofs and into lakes lol

Presume Preston will now be after Fowler, and possibly be favourites due to no relocation

We could offer them Deep Freeze + Elvis however

"We just need to see what comes up over the next few weeks really because clubs are a bit reluctant to let players go until they've got their own replacements in.

"We've just got to wait and hope that if the club are prepared to let the lad go then we're in a position where we can afford to do it."

Doesn't sound like their interested in Fowler does it? Wouldn't be suprised if they coming sniffing around Fryatt though.

I just don't understand why anybody wouldn't want Fowler really. He's clearly a proven goalscorer at the highest level, and is easily considered one of Liverpool's greatest ever legends, hence the 'god' status.

I couldn't care less what wages he'd be on, he'd be worth it in my opinion. At 32 (I think), he's still got years left in him, and no doubt he still has the ability.

His ability is not in question but his motivitation, fitness and effort are. I (and many others) don't think we'll get £22k of effort from Robbie Fowler at 32. He only has years left his heart's still in it and I just don't see Robbie Fowler as having the desire to continue playing as someone like Teddy Sheringham.

Imagine your city shirt with "GOD 9" on the back - quality! It prob aint gonna happen...but fun to think about nevertheless.

if you remember watching the you tube videos of Kaebi that were posted, quite often he would burst into the box. he was either fouled or he would cut it back to someone roughly around the penalty spot..

Just the sort of delivery that would be bread and butter to someone like Fowler...

Absolutely

His finishing is precise and clinical. With just a sniff of the goal Fowler will do the business every time. If we sell Fryatt for £1m then that should more or less cover the main chunk of his £22k a week wage packet. But if we’re promoted then his wages won’t matter.

After the 3 years of complete and utter shite we’ve seen play, the prospect of having a player of his quality is brilliant.

I only have posters of De Vries on my walls.

2001-2007 :: 42 goals

Seven goals a year - doing the business every time?

Nah. Don't reckon.

1992-2001 :: 128 goals

That's the Fowler everyone is talking about but he has long since gone.

As I say, bollocks to the apprentice Rachman.

Now come on Daggers... if you're going to nick my statistics, don't use them for evil...

Leeds 2001-2003 30 apps (14 goals)

Manchester City 2003-2006 79 apps (20 goals)

Liverpool 2006-2007 30 apps (8 goals)

Oh,

I should really do some research next time before making such bold statements about Fowlers scoring abilities.

My love affiliation with Robbie was good while it lasted anyway.

Im somewhat confused Master Fox.

are you expecting us to sign Paulo Ronaldo Henry or something? Whats wrong with 8 goals from 30 apperances (many as sub). or indeed 14 goals from 30 games.

even 20 from 79 aint that bad!

And all in the Premiership. Decent stats in my opinion. I doubt Fryatt, Hume, Dodds, Sappleton, McLeod, Odhiambo, McKay or DJ Campbell would perform like that in the Premiership.

Given that a hell of a lot of those would have been sub appearances, he probably averages a goal every 2 full games in the past 6 years at Premiership level.

Are they prem stats or general ones? Fowler actually made quite a few apperances (most of his starts in fact) in the Champions League. A even higher level.

I'd take him without a shadow I just don't see it happening.

And I'd never live it down.

To be fair, from the stats that have been posted about Fowler's recent years, I bet many of those appearances have come from the bench.

I still think we should pull out all the stops to get him in.

Paulo Ronaldo Henry wouldn’t be bad signing, but whether he would come to Leicester for championship football I’m not so sure.

I know Robbie’s stats don’t look to impressive on paper but regardless of that I still think he would score quite a few goals in our league. There’s no doubting the fact he was a quality player and has the potential to provide us with a goal scorer we so desperately need. I just think at the moment if we’re going on last seasons performances we appear to be somewhat lacking up front in my opinion.

TBH I'm quite suprised by how good those stats are. For anyone interested here are more detailed stats from Soccerbase:

Liverpool

League 15(15) - 8 goals

League Cup 3(0) - 2 goals

Other Comp 2(4) - 2 goals

Manchester City

League 63(17) - 20 goals

FA Cup - 5(0) - 4 goals

League Cup - 3(0) - 2 goals

Other Comp - 4(0) 1 goals

I cannot think of too many other strikers who have done well in the championship recently who could achieve that in the Premier League. I might be coming round to this Robbie Fowler idea after all.

Strong unsubstantiated rumours from a poster on TB who gets to hear things is saying Fowler is not coming to City. :(

I have a fairly reliable source but all i know is that we are definitely in for Fowler. Pretty useless but just thought i would confirm this is more than a rumour.

Thanks for that. It’s really good of you could let us know this piece of vital information. I think Milan Mandaric appearing on Sky sports actually confirming our interest is quite a reliable source

Most people want him here. Its his outrageous wages that we worried about. He aint worth breaking the bank for.
