NorthernFox Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 Hang on - thats my Keith and he's unavailable. But, and its a big Butt, Sir Fowler of Birkenhead would be most welcome as he is of the most talented and would be royally welcomed by the buxom and lowly of Leicestershire. Tugging of forlocks etc. Dont think of the coinage Sir, think of the worship and glory...
Blue Bob Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 So have we forgiven Fowler for showing the City fans his arse when we played Liverpool at Filbert Street?? Or was it at the Walkers - sorry cant remember.
Daggers Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 I must be alone in thinking that the podgy, lazy and nasally-challenged little one (who has achieved nothing of note in five years) would simply be a drain on our resources. I'd rather have one of these.

Bet is on. If he signs Robbie scores more than Michelle. Loser shows arse in Fenwicks window....
Hack Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 The reason Fowler has not yet signed with City! Robbie Fowler arrived in Sydney to finalise his negotiations to play with Sydney FC in the A league. Sydney are now clear favourites to get his signiture.

Hack Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 Wow thanks for the inside scoop.... No problem. It was on the 6pm TV news. He is here with his manager. I can only imagine they are close for him to be here in Oz.
morris1234 Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 has this been posted??not sure http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...y+in+for+Fowler Milan Mandaric has confirmed Leicester City are keen to sign Robbie Fowler, who has travelled to Australia for talks with Sydney FC. The former England international is available on a free transfer after being released by Liverpool at the end of last season. Cardiff City and Port Vale have both approached Fowler regarding a deal for the new campaign, with the 32-year-old considering his options. Other clubs are also keen on the proven goal poacher, with Leicester now disclosing their interest in Fowler. Foxes chairman Mandaric acknowledged talks have taken place and is hoping Fowler will choose his new club for football, rather than financial, reasons. "Every club in the Championship would love to have Robbie Fowler and there is some dialogue going on," said Mandaric in the Daily Mirror. "I hope he will choose the club with a good ambition and it is not only about the money." But Mandaric may have to wait for further discussions after Fowler headed down under to negotiate terms with Sydney. The A-League club want to make the forward their 'marquee' player and hope for a decision before he returns to England next Monday.
Master Fox Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 Fingers crossed he thought Sydney was rubbish. I really hope we sign him. I know people have their gripes about him, but having a high profile player at the club would be brilliant. And whatever anyone says, Fowler playing in the championship would score 20+ goals! You can shove your Matty Fyatt, Carl Cort, and Iain Hume’s up your arse.
Gené and Tonic Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 He would be real quality. Although if we sign both him and DJ then that leaves at least one departure
Mickey O'Neil Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 Just wondering if PNE might look at Fowler seeing as they've just mugged Pompey for £6m. I'm not fussed one way or another if we get him.
Master Fox Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 He would be real quality.Although if we sign both him and DJ then that leaves at least one departure I'd rather we had Fowler and DJ than any other of the strikers we currently have at the club. And yes, that includes the little golden boy wonder Iain Hume.

dandannieldanok Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 I can't really believe some people are turning their noses up at Fowler saying they couldn't care less. The guy maybe 32 and demand a sky high wage but he still has the quality to score 20 in this league at a canter as MF says. Whats the point of having a multi-millionaire owner if we are worried about paying £20,000 a week. It's just a fact of life that the high profile better football players of this country get paid more than others.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 If he goes to a bigger or better club then fine. If he goes to Cardiff, Port Vale or Sydney FC then he didn't want to play for us anyway, so that's fine too. I'm really not arsed either way. These £20,000 a week merchants like Fowler and Hendrie should not be holding us to ransom. We have a decent little squad now and I find it a bit disconcerting that people are desperate to pay 30+ year-old players £20,000 a week after what happened a few years ago.
Nationwider Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 I don't have any footballing analysis to add to the Robbie Fowler debate. I just don't want us to sign him because, basically, he's an arrogant willy puller.

He’s been a top football player for years now and earned shed loads of cash? So what? Doesn’t necessarily make him arrogant. You could say people like MM are the same! I’m not particularly fond of Fowler as person myself, but he’s a pretty damn good player and if he were to score 20 odd goals and drive us to a league title then I couldn’t give a sh*t.

Well, I just don't like the greasy, ugly coke fiend. If he signs for us..... :w00t: Sorry, if he signs for us and scores 40 goals, I'll still hate him, and wish we hadn't bothered.
Daggers Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 I'm with 'Wider. All the way. Not in the homo-erotic sense though...unless 'Wider is up for a bit of forbidden love and my wife stays at work late.

Musty Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 My Two-penneth... Totally understand reservations about forking out big bucks for a 32 year old 'billy big bollox' with his best well behind him etc etc.... BUT come on guys...how often do we get the chance to see a legend in a City shirt?? Remember how great it was to see Sir Lesley Ferdinand play for us for a season at the end of his career? For all the Andy Johnsons and Josh Lows we have to put up with we deserve the odd treat. Altogether now.... "we've got Robbie Fowler, we've got Robbie Fowler...." (i hope!)

Just the sort of delivery that would be bread and butter to someone like Fowler...

All I was saying was that if he doesn't sign for us then I won't be devastated. I wouldn't break the bank for him if he feels Sydney FC is a better option. I want players who really want to play for us and if Fowler decides he wants to play for us, great. If not, then let's forget about him and get the best out of players who do.
Daggers Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 Totally understand reservations about forking out big bucks for a 32 year old 'billy big bollox' I'm not paying 'Wider a bloody thing. If I want to pay for sex then I'll give my money to someone without a contagious disease and that will do the thing I like with a whisk and the bag of brussels near the sink.
