Manwell Pablo Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 You're thinking of Nicholas Cage. Nah, Nicholas Cage is normally in at least two crap films per year.
MC Prussian Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 I remember the hype Keown created... "Oooh, he's from Arsenal, so he must be good"... Half a season later...
MC Prussian Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 Alex, shush up mate, Jimmy Fllody has talent I don't need to listen to the hype or wait to see him "Play in a city shirt" as I've spent the last 10 odd years watching him thank you, as many others have, hence the excitement, he might be too old to use it effectively but he has more talent in his little finger than Paul Dickov, who is also old. I like to spoil parties, you know. Especially when I see grown-up men behave like boy band groupies.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 I like to spoil parties, you know.Especially when I see grown-up men behave like boy band groupies. Grown-up men??
Mort Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 I remember the hype Keown created... "Oooh, he's from Arsenal, so he must be good"... Half a season later... He had a club to start with...! All Jimmy's got is a good record that got tarnished with a god-awful showing last season in a relegated team... wont wright him off, just think a lot of folks are getting excited by a "name". On the plus side DJ and JFH up front would work together well IMHO (perhaps with Hume playing behind them... ).
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 Grown-up men?? Is Jimmy a turd-burglar?
Ric Flair Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 I remember the hype Keown created... "Oooh, he's from Arsenal, so he must be good"... Half a season later... There's a few more as well. Wise & Dublin spring to mind. But bollocks, we can all hope.
maddog Posted 13 August 2007 Author Posted 13 August 2007 ill change my striker goal count now Fryatt 2 Dj 14 Hume 10 Jimmy 19 De Vries 5 Cort 7 Sappleton 2 Odihambo 1

Agreed, I would have much prefered if Milan had concentrated on other areas!!!
The People's Hero Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 I remember the hype Keown created... "Oooh, he's from Arsenal, so he must be good"... Half a season later... Keown was a good centre back. He wasn't even that bad here.. he fell out with the management and probably some of the players in his time here. Not sure exactly who was in the right/wrong but my understanding is that he was under the impression he was to be groomed here for management but it just didn't happen. Point is anyway that no one is saying JFH is definitely going to be brilliant here, but over the years he has had a good track record at a level better than this. Poor season in a poor team last year in the premiership. We'll see. Both JFH and MK though, have a ability and are proven premiership performers.
mancunianfox Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 Big name signings + Leicester City = Dissapointment Sorry but theres just so many examples of that being true that I wouldn't even know were to start. I'd like Hasselbaink to be a quality signing but I am not going to assume that he will be because I have done before and have been dissapointed. Hasselbaink is/was a quality player but none of us can know how he will play for us.
MC Prussian Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 Grown-up men??Fez - great at spotting oxymorons. There's a few more as well. Wise & Dublin spring to mind. But bollocks, we can all hope.We do that all the time. Season in, season out.

MC Prussian Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 He only said he's supremely talented. Which is true. In fact, I'd say it was indisputable.Whether he shows it at LCFC on the pitch is up for debate I suppose. But there is no doubting his talent. Alexander - 1.5 (arguing about something without understanding what they actually said). Mablo + 1.5 (I love a bit of Mablo in the morning). TPH - 2 (for losing his grip on originality) James, you've been better.

The People's Hero Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 TPH - 2 (for losing his grip on originality)James, you've been better. Even at my worst, I'm 6 times the poster you are. Perhaps 7 in fact. -3.5 bitchiness. You're Swiss - remain impartial. Don't get involved. Let me March through your country and have a crack at one of your neighbours.

Ooh very superstitious Wash your face and hands Rid me of the problem Do all that you can Keep me in a daydream Keep me goin' strong You don't wanna save me Sad is my song When you believe in things you don't understand Then you suffer Superstition ain't the way, hey hey hey yeh.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 I'm not that excited by this news like some other people have said. We have strikers at the club already who have the ability to score enough goals to take us close to the play-offs, if not in them. The least worrying aspect of Saturday was our strikers imo. I was more worried by the midfield and certain defensive frailties. We've spent money on Campbell who scored goals at this level last season and we've got Hume who scored goals in a poor team last season. I'm more concerned about who else is going to pop up with goals seeing as Kishishev and Clemence both looked less than attacking on Saturday and we were playing with a right winger on the left and a central midfielder on the right.

You raise some good points, but by the looks of things, If we aren't winning by about 55 minutes, Allen will throw more strikers on anyway, it's going to be a bizarre old season. Enjoy it.
