Daggers Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 This thread has just highlighted the amount of mongols that now use this forum. I do find it quite incredible that so much stupidity can be condensed here into its purest form and yet not serve any purpose. I aim to discover a use for pure ****nuttery, and when I do I am going to be rich. Damn rich, I tell you.

Chrysalis Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 I think we can do well to remember that the mirror has contacts with milan so is more reliable then other papers and it wouldnt surprise me one bit now if MAs days are numbered, MM will be fuming after this massive cockup over a high profile signing.

Foxed Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 the Little bit is quite poor! Agreed. That's the bit that makes it ludicrous in my eyes!
Master Fox Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 Agreed. That's the bit that makes it ludicrous in my eyes! This what ludacris looks like in my eyes
Manwell Pablo Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 This what ludacris looks like in my eyes Yes, us signing Jason lee is ludacris/ludicrous
Blue Fox Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 Well Im not to bothred about that, it's irrlevant. If he had said no to a 14 day trial fair enough F8ck off Jimmy, but he didn't he said no to a 30 day trial, Thats actually the longest trial I've ever herd of. Perhaps he thought it would take him at least 30 days to get fit and take part in sufficient games to show his commitment, there's many a player that 'shines' for couple of weeks and then sits back and takes the piss. We also don't know what other conditions him and his agent put on the table and as no one at LCFC has come forward to give all the details of why the deal collapsed there's no reason why we should believe it was only down to a 30 day trial.
Ric Flair Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 Allen's failure to bring in big name signings will be his downfall, unless he can turn things around quickly. It's all a little un-impressive since the seasons started and if Milan is unhappy at the fact that Allen prefers to sign un-proven players rather than big named experienced players, then it will make it all the harder for Allen to turn things around. Looking at our signings so far, I perhaps have just contradicted myself as we have signed some experienced players but Mandaric craves a big name signing or two. He did it at Pompey and he as much as the fans enjoys the buzz of signing them. Just like he did with Prosinecki, Merson, Sheringham, etc. I, myself would love for a big name or two to come in. It always gives the place a lift for a while, but if Allen isn't comfortable working with them, then so be it. But whatever happens, if Allen chooses to do things his way then he must get it right. As Milan already has his reason. We need some signings to lift the mood and a good performance and win on Saturday. Never thought it would be this depressing this season.

We got done at home by a hard-working team who took their chance when we missed our 20+. We're through to the next round of the Cup and now we're off to get off our f**king faces in London on Saturday. Everyone's a winner.

That is a valid point, but MM's Mirror contact is twisting the story for his own journalistic benefits. Mandaric had agreed a package with JFH on the basis that Allen would be happy, the manager wasn't and it hasn't been pursued. This is more a case of JFH and his agents trying to whore his fat arse out and we've just be niaive enough to be caught in the middle of it. Mandaric is seething but not at the manager, he's been played. JFH was a high profile signing only in his mind and those minds of the dimwitted on here.

A couple of things here Ric, Allen doesn't need to make any big name signings although N'Gotty, Clememnce and Kishishev all could fall in to that catagory because of where we have been the last few seasons. As long as he puts a side together that is better than last he is doing his job and 2 games in he has. The difference between Merson, Prosinecki and Sheringham was they were still top drawer at 33-37, JFH isn't, he was gut rot last season, he has nothing left, and 20-35 gees a week is not worth it, a point MA made to MM. If MM stumped up a Merson or a Prosinecki to Allen, Martin would bite his hand off facta****ingmundo, but Jimmy Floyd wasn't.

But you can't deny that Mandaric craves 1 or 2 so called big name signings as it keeps us in the media. I am led to believe Martin Allen is very much against big name signings such as Hasselbaink and Fowler and unless he proves that his way is best and his signings are successful quickly, then Mandaric will get very restless. It will hopefully settle down when the Transfer Window closes! I'm fairly bemused at the lack of transfer activity since the middle of July though, it's evident we are massively lacking left sided and creative players. Is it because of disagreements between the players we should sign?

As long as we improve on the past few seasons guff, then our fans should be happy. But Mandaric wants promotion and fairly quickly. He also wants big named signings, he always has done. Hasselbaink and Fowler might be shot, it's hard to say. Both have had fairly poor seasons in recent years, but that's why these sorts of players drop down a league. I can't quite remember what sorts of seasons Prosinecki, Merson and Sheringham had had the year before they signed for Pompey, but for them to have joined him there would mainly be because they were un-wanted at their clubs and not necessarily because Mandaric is a pioneer in getting Grade A players to play for a second rate outfit. There are areas of the team that Allen & Mandaric haven't strengthen, even by buying players in those positions it's still not strengthened them. I have grave doubts over DJ Campbell, Neilson and the lack of left sided players, including a quality creative player. Rome wasn't built in a day, but it's been a month since our last signing and this needs to be resolved quickly.

JFH fits the same profile of the players that Milan brought in at Pompey and it won't be good enough for Allen to finish 16th this season in Milan's eyes.

We've learnt from the past that big signings don't necessarily work. What we need is quality and in the correct positions. Everyone is all agreed that we need a couple of left sided players and not here for a short term spell. Another good midfielder would also do.

If Mandaric wants to manage he should either get the badges and do it (if they'd let him which I doubt) or appoint a manager on the basis that he's a puppet and will allow Mandaric to manage in a clandestine way. If cannot be easy being a successful multi-millionaire club owner who has to spend his money as someone else sees fit. Big name signings are all right if they're fit, motivated and successful. JFH might have been such a man - I was a real fan when he was at his best - but I'm not convinced now and if MA has his doubts too I respect that.
Fox in a Box Posted 15 August 2007 Posted 15 August 2007 JFH and Fowler have both got fatt ar5es and they will not be signed due to them getting stuck in the ever revolving doors at the front of the ground that CITY seem to have where players are concerned.
davieG Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 I see Allen's only making loan deals now so must definitely be on the way out
