ASH17LCFC Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 Erm perhaps Fulop isn't allowed to play in Cups? Season long loan ?
ASH17LCFC Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 And? Why wouldn't be aloud to play in the cup ? Sunderland have a keeper and back up. We also have a view to buy him at the end of the season so he is finish there and also said nothing on OS that he wasn;t aloud to play.

Presumably that if he's here for the season that means he can play in all the cup games. Seeing as he's here for the whole season and Sunderland theoretically will not be needing him. + They are out now so its safe to say he can play in the replay.
Chrysalis Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Thracrian I would also field a weak team in a cup game when league is priority.
SystonFox Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Nice of you to say so Sparky but it just hit me that discussing his future at LCFC when it's not inconceivable that he might no longer have a playing future suddenly hit me right in the gut. i didnt see Clive at palacebut i thought he was solid against Watford and imo did well last night. give him a few more games if he recovers and he could have a future here. best wishes Clive we all hope you are ok.
Geo V Posted 29 August 2007 Author Posted 29 August 2007 Tonight's team selection was an insult to everyone who bought a ticket. Six changes, a change of system, short of attacking threat, no creativity in midfield, a slow and unfamiliar back line. And now we'll have to make another stack of changes for Saturday's match. Tinkerman has nothing on our guy? We had perhaps three performers out of 11 and the blame for that goes to Allen. Allen -2 (+15 overall) for picking an indefensible team and for only being saved from a licking by the special circumstances of the evening. Hold on a sec here! To my knowledge, the players who started the Trees game have all featured this season. Let me break it down... Henderson, Chambers, Kisnorbo, Clemence ©, Hume, Campbell, Newton, Wesolowski, Porter, Clarke, Kenton Subs: Neilsen, McAuley, Kishishev, Cort, Fryatt From that side, Hendo has already started this season and did OK, Chambers would have still been in if it wasn't for his early season injury and most want him in the side. He played to rest the legs of the veteran N`Gotty. Kenton was apparently outstanding the other week and MA did what he has done with MDV and played players who impressed him and Porter, who came on to help earn us a point at Palace and one that you always go on about started instead of Sheehan. Newton, the other player who has featured this season like all those who started this match came in for the big fella to probably rest him like he did in the last round of the cup. MA didn't play players who weren't match fit like Cort and Kaebi and actually put out a strong side. You are only moaning that it was an indefensible team because they played so poorly in the half that they were there but largely, the team was a strong one.
Mort Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Most likley reason Fulop didnt play is simply rotation, the first choice keeper usually gets a break for cup games and based on his last two performances Fulop looks a lot like first choice now... though after Henderson's display last night i could see him getting a thrown into the cup games as well.
Thracian Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Thracrian I would also field a weak team in a cup game when league is priority. Perhaps explains why you'll never be a manager. I also hope you'd make an announcement to that effect a fortnight beforehand to save people wasting their money on tickets for what they believe is going to be a first team football match. Nor was this some low-key outing into the wilderness to play the likes of Accrington or Bury - not that it would be any real excuse. It was a derby game against one of our nearest neighbours and over 5000 travelling fans were not only placed in a situation whereby their club and team were being publicly humiliated they were placed in that situation voluntarily, by our manager. Priority? The next "priority" is winning the next match.
Manwell Pablo Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Henderson is shit. The goal was, yet again, perfectly avoidable. Although the defenders were to blame as well as him.
dandannieldanok Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Very disappointing preformance last night and although the evening was rightly set aside for Clarke's injury, Allen must address the problems ahead of the next game.
Stevosevic Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 They played poorly to be honest, too many stray passes, someone played a ridiclulous pass back so Kisnorbo had to take out their forward - Levi?

Our priority is the League and to use a Cup game to run out some other squad members is not just common sense, it's common practice. If you want entertainment - stay at home and watch Casualty.

Okay so you're not a fan of Kenton or Newton but who else are you unhappy with from that team?

Casualtys on Saturdays Dave, popular Casualty spin off Holby City would be Thracians best bet if he is after hospital drama based entertainment. And you'd know all about that. EDIT: Yes Porter was absloute dog, seems to play much better when he comes off the bench.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Porter only seems effective when we are bossing central midfield. If we are in a fight he is useless.

There's always the possibility of recording one of the re-runs of Doc Martin, which I personally enjoy.
Flynny Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 Hendo wasn't great, but some of that was Kisnorbo/Kenton not working as a partnership. The crap punch he made, for instance, was still just about the best thing he could do in the circumstances with unmarked men on every side.Quite obvious he was trying to impress a little too hard, I thought. No closing down in central midfield, which was disappointing. Porter didn't get a decent cross off all night and looked garbage, Clarke was having a decent game but went in too conservatively at times. I stand by what I said last night, particularly the bit about Henderson. He was shakey, but made to look much worse than he actually was. I think personally we'd have gone on to win the game in the second half; I don't see the problems evident in the first half not being dealt with at half time. Reckon there's any chance we'll let them score from the kick-off at a replay? It'd be a nice gesture, even if a little naive.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 We probably should do that but I hope we don't.

Lord Nibblington Posted 29 August 2007 Posted 29 August 2007 I'd say there's probably a better chance of it happening than there otherwise might be, what with all the help Forest gave last night.
