Plymouth post match

1st rule of a successful team - win at home and don't lose away. Good result.

And considering the past week...

Must be your rule book but seeing we lost at home to Blackpool, the theory is not holding up and we're now likely to be five points off the pace after four matches having failed to score in half of them.

It's no use having the players if you don't give them the freedom to play.

So i guess Beaglehole decided against his magical attacking free flowing football today then?:D

No shots on target, oh dear. Oh well, take the point and run.

An opportunity lost for him especially as he has nothing to lose.

You heard how we were standing off people and defending deep. That's a sure sign our defenders are too slow and know it.

Our only attacking midfielder was forced to play full-back and after that there was no way slow defenders like N'Gotty, Kisnorbo and McAuley were ever going to support the remaining two midfielders in any forward movement.

Our final problem was not having three up front because we were always going to be limited to scraps and Porter was always going to be isolated from the game with lack of close and numerical support.

You might be right but how long are people going to come out with these endless excuses for our failure to have a go?

What was the reason against Blackpool first half? Or Accrington. And why did we funnel back on defence at Palace in the closing stages?

Or barely have a kick for the first half-hour at Notingham?

And you moan at MM for sacking Martin Allen...........??

The rule is a general one. Of course we'll lose some at home and hopefully win enough away. (Can't believe there's not a praying smiley)

But my point was that a draw away from home at Plymouth (considering the past week) was a good result.

We've had a short Allen era, we have no manager and still a great deal of expectation, and a whole season ahead.

Yes but you said no good having the players if you don't play them. Who from the available (ie not out on loan  ) players would you have put in instead?

Managerless Leicester draw 0-0 with Plymouth.

We haven't got any players suitable for hoofing other than Cort, certainly not MDV.

Why do people say on the one hand he can't head the ball and then say if we're going to hoof it play MDV - this is not aimed at you filbert

I didn't have chance to respond to this in the other thread so brough it over here :P.

When we "Hoof" it with DJ and Hume up top, they're not really capable of getting the ball on their chest and holding it up, if theres one thing MDV is good at, it's getting the ball and holding it up. That's what I meant when I said if we're going to hoof it we may as well have him on, at least he would be the target and we wouldnt have long balls going to centre backs marking DJ or Hume.
