Way back in 1981 my then girlfriend, who I was besotted with and wanted to marry, lent me £200 towards buying a MGB convertible.

Some months later she declined my proposal of marriage, went off to college in Scarborough, met some geek there and dumped me. A few weeks later she wrote asking for to be repaid adding that she was losing interest, which I took to mean "interest in me" rather than interest on her savings.

I have never repaid her to this day.

But the convertible MG meant you met plenty more women, right?

Imagine if you'd had an Italian accent too lol

Ordered a t shirt online for the gig I'm going to at the weekend.

They emailed me saying it wouldn't arrive till next week, so asked them if I could cancel the order and have a refund. No problem at all, money was back in my bank the next day.

Today, the t shirt has shown up, alongside a totally random one as well lol

Morally, I know I should sort it our with the company, but right now, it's too hot and all I want to do is lie in the garden with a cold beer.

First wash and it'll fit a 12 year old. lol

Well remembered lol

The MG was a bit of a puller TBH. However it could attract the wrong type of people. Once I parked in a side street near New Walk to do a DJ gig at The Prohibition as it was then, and returned to find a slashed soft top and a Chinese meal chucked inside. Random!

My dad had a load of MG's, mainly before I was born, but I remember late 80's he had a rubber bumper BGT, someone vandalised that on our drive.

No Chinese food though. The shits!

Probably down to jealousy. Like those that deliberately key a Bentley, Aston or Maserati etc.

I have 4 days off work now, so glad to finish this evening.

Off to Scotland to watch Biffy Clyro in Edinburgh on Saturday.

Travelling up tomorrow and having a stop over in Newcastle.

Really looking forward to it. Apart from 8 quid a pint of flat, warm Carlsberg lol

Busy couple of weeks incoming. Looking forward to a round of golf on 1st July, then my charity event of 72 holes in a day on 6th July.

I can't moan too much about life.

Turns out the Mrs booked us a hotel in South Shields, it's nice, but we need to get a ferry to where we want to go.

I'm regretting watching that Costa Concordia documentary on Channel 5 last week lol

Last day at work today, starting a new job on Monday with a big pay rise. They’ve all said they’re sad to see me go, but needed a change and to work in a more stable company.
They made a load of people redundant last year and some of the shit they’ve pulled has been disgusting tbh.

Then the fvcking CEO’s rang me saying what would it take to keep me and I’ve said I’m not interested, it literally took you until the last 5 minutes of the day to do anything. I’ve been there for 3 years, and I’ve never been spoken to about raising my salary or anything.

Is this normal to wait until the last minute or what? Such a weird way to treat people.

As most people say, never accept a counter offer as you will be the first out the door on next cuts! Good thing you stuck to your guns.

That's not normal to wait until the end, it reeks of desperation.  You did the right thing!

Ps! Congrats on the new role!

That’s not normal. Seems to me he tried to protect the company’s reputation last minute. In the current market it is embarrassing for businesses to lose staff to other businesses for things such as salary or progression etc.

A simply stunning view from my hotel room in Dunbar, looking across the Firth of Forth.

It's made from girders you know lol

Just 1 night here, then outskirts of Edinburgh tomorrow.

I really do fancy moving to somewhere by the sea. So beautiful.

You're a bit too late, we've just accepted an offer on our house not too far from the sea lol

Bit of a weird feeling with nowhere planned to move to yet, we're thinking Turkey or North Cyprus for the weather and cheaper cost of living, but we may yet stay in Spain or Portugal now I have a proper job again :)

Scotland is definitely not on our radar though, all those girders would play havoc with my waist line, never mind the shitty weather and the crap football

Dunbar is allegedly the sunniest place in mainland UK.

The battered Mars bars wouldn't be good every night!

A colleague of mine has bought a place in portugal (lisbon) and is travelling back and forth from here. She says it's such a beautiful place to be and is going to essentially find a job that allows her to work remote in another country permanently and make the move. Mengiomed cost of living was better there then here. But then again, not sure how it compares to england as we are in the great white north and it's 33 celsius weather today lol.

Our company is now remote but don’t allow you to work in another country for long unless it's an emergency etc. Booo lol

I was in Dunbar recently, I have a very good friend that lives there - maybe walk up The Law and see the wild Ponies...
