I should be at Rebellion enjoying all things punk. I’m not because I had to come home to change passwords after some ******* *********** **** stole my wallet and phone.

That’s not good, mate.

Definitely nicked, and down the side of the sofa?

Ball ache to cancel everything…you can still make the gig though, can’t you?

Had to drive home to change passwords and visit the bank. Facing a 9hr round trip back to Blackpool and the £100+ additional fuel bill - nah, I’m not up for it.

Definitely nicked, loads of others were done during the same gig.

Its 1125 amand currently 30 feels like 40.

Going up to apparently 33 feels like 42.  Fuk sakes. The humidity does you in.

Could be worse mate, you could've been at the King Power, like me lol

Anyway, another 4 months and it'll be a more comfortable -20 for you!

I don't know how you do it.

Thanks, the youngster currently identifies as female

Thanks for acknowledging, indeed initially we attempted to not gender her.

Over time we have found that she was comfortable identifying as a female, which is conceivably from influence of her friends and family but is indeed an interesting and learning experience for us all

It is also a very interesting experience to see how gendered we and our society is. Watch tv or read books and almost all "imaginary" characters (think dragons, dinosaurs random creatures etc) are all called he/him.

Listening to my internal and external monologue...and I automatically use the male pronouns... eg. The idiot that cut me off in traffic is almost always "that guy/that bloke".

The suggestion that "guys" is apparently now non gendered when addressing a group that is not only men... Now try addressing a group of people and refer to them as "gals"...see if that is non gendered... or how about asking some men how many "guys" they've slept with.

Nevertheless, nothing will ever bring me more joy, than this little person telling me she loves me. :)

A real sad day.

My 94 year old Grandad was found dead in his garden earlier on today. My mum went to see him like she always does on a Sunday and he seemed his usual self. My aunty as usual headed over as she always does on a Monday. Had to call the police to get in the house and they found him there. Seems like he had a fall yesterday and was there overnight :( as he was in the clothes he was wearing yesterday when. So sad, and such an undignified way for such a brilliant man to go out on.

Condolences to you and your loved ones @Bert.

I would say focus more the positives in that he lived till 94 that in itself is amazing and such a blessing. My grandad would have been 94 this year but passed in 2017. Looks like we had grands of the same age although unlikely to know one another unless they were both raised and lived in Wigston.

Take care.

Of course. After getting over the original shock we’ve looked back on the good times, laughed and cried. He’s with my grandma now, and that’s where he wanted to be for a long time since her passing.

Sorry for your loss Bert.

I mentioned  a few weeks ago in the nhs thread about my dad going into hospital on the hottest day of the year.

Unfortunately  he contracted covid in the LRI and this eventually  resulted in multiple organ failure.

He passed away peacefully  last wednesday night.

He didnt suffer and had s good innings(85) seeing his great grandkids too.

Therss SO much to arrange in an asian funeral its keeping my mind occupied, but it'll  no doubt hit me after the funeral this Thursday

Sorry to hear that Raj. Good innings indeed. Take care of yourself and my thoughts are with your family.

I really am sorry for you loss.

It may not seem like scant consolation but at least you are receiving a prompt funeral.

I know of three folk who have died recently, one of which was my uncle, and the wait to lay them to rest was 4 weeks at least.

Sorry for my ignorance, but why the long wait?

Is it due to post mortem, medical certificate  reasons?

We visited Great Glen Crematorium  today where the service is taking place and it's a beautiful  peaceful place.

All three were age/long term health issues. So no, there were no post mortems ect

Most (all, even) funerals I've been to for several years have had similar 'waiting' time.

I hope everything goes as well as it possibly can for you and your family on Thursday.
