Geo V Posted 26 September 2007 Posted 26 September 2007 Yes, because Mattock knew that if he wanted to go forward, one of the centre backs could easily drop in and cover for him. He had a terrific game tonight. Great to hear he did well. He was decent towards the end of last season and hadnt started the season to well and looked way off the pace. I hope he starts against Stole but he will have to learn to play in a back four without the extra defender to protect him. He also would need a left-mid to fill in for him if he goes forward though.

As he plays more games and gets the experience i'm sure he'll be able to do that with flying colours and he's definetly a future England Left Back. The only reason he didn't play after Blackpool was because he nearly blacked out due to the heat.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 26 September 2007 Posted 26 September 2007 Great result thought we would give them a go as went closes last year just spewing i didn't wake up early enough to listen to the game was crook day before and needed sleep. Just hope know people give Megson a chance as he needs time to put his style in to the players and find his best XI
lookwhaticando Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 I always miss the good results. Still... makes my day to come home expecting us to have been tonked, only to find that we're into the last 16. :D Superb! Just wish I coulda caught the game live.
Raj Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Well Done Leicester City FC! Well done to all you that went and braved the cold. I endured Barber(With Walshie saving his skin!) When the goal went in ,im sure Walshie shouted Fcuking Get in!! I thought we would get hammered! Great result. Well done players. Well done Megson...you bald ginger boring old git!!!!! Seriously, lets hope THIS is the start of some good results....Lets build from here.....

Did Megson get a decent reception from our fans during/after the game? How cold was it???? teblin Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Just looked at our results we have only lost 1 in 8 games. (in all competitions) won 4 drew 3 lost one. We are not that far away from turning the corner and hopefully last night was that corner!
Leicester Lass Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 A Villa fan is taking me to school this morning
Daggers Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 I got hugs off Ian Ormonpops. Nights don't get much better than that let me tell you.
Simi Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Marton Fulop What a god that man is. Fantastic save from the free kick which looked like it was already in the bottom corner and another world class save from a header, and this is not an exaggeration. I didn't enjoy those last 15 minutes after we scored, but we did battle really well, players actually seemed to want to fight for the result. Good finish by Fryatt, who didn't really have a great game, but neither did any of our strikers, I feel we would of been a bit more competitive with De Vries up there, 'cos once again, the long balls don't work to Hume and Fryatt. Get in!
Moreton Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Yes great result, we needed this to lift us, told you fryatt was special, c'mon chelsea away.
Raj Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 I got hugs off Ian Ormonpops.Nights don't get much better than that let me tell you. LEAVE HIM!

PAULCFC Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Last game we went to in this competition was the abandoned match at Forest.Due to me working conti's the last couple of weeks have had me working tue's and wed's at night.Anyone know when the next round week is?
izzetafox? Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 What a result, is all i can say. quite......lets hope we can do it in the league now! bring on Stoke!!
Micky Ruddle Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Lets all go to CovScum la la la! Maybe not the best performace, but i think we got the deserved victory Well done Leicester fans. We was fooking loud, and we made Villa fans look like a set of league 2 supporters. No disrespect.
Tevez Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Where was all the Martin Allen chants? Couldn't hear you lot?
Micky Ruddle Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Where was all the Martin Allen chants? Couldn't hear you lot? Maybe because it weren't sang Tevez
Manwell Pablo Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Grrr! Not happy I missed this, this ban seems to be dragging rather badly. What a result though! No doubt Stoke will tonk us now and Fuller will score a hat trick, but still what a result!! What an advertisement for attacking football eh Thracian? ahahah.
Dames Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 I feel so much safer with N'Gotty playing center back and with Fulop inbetween the sticks.

No doubt Stoke will tonk us now and Fuller will score a hat trick, but still what a result!! What an advertisement for attacking football eh Thracian? ahahah. Still, if Megson can grind out 1-0 victories, week in week out, it won't be so bad, the feel good facotr of a win will make up for the lack of attacking enterprise, especially if your not watching the game!!

Yeah I suppose. Great result and chuffed and all that, but I'm more than used to false dawn cup games. They're usually followed by a defeat and a woefull performance!
