Bert Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 We'll just have to pay for Norris. Unless he hands his resignation in.
eaststandtom Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Ok, population does matter because it affects fanbase. We are a two-sport city, actually, Plymouth Albion play in the second tier of English rugby. You might have got a few trophies and played in the premiership, but what are you doing now? thats what counts, or do you lot like living in the past? With regards to players, Aljofree has gone. Your best players are on loan, Fulop and John, you cant really count them, I wouldnt count Lee Martin or Scott Sinclair last season. Bruno N'gotty is basically 'sloppy seconds' from Bolton. Carl Cort's best days are long gone. And like i said, Clemence is your best signing in years. I do rate Matty Fryatt though. Well if your a big club why cant you appoint a half decent manager? You can't attract quality managers like the big clubs do. We do more with our resources than you do. Norris for a 5 figure some, one of the best players in the league now. Like one of your fans said, Halmosi for a quarter for DJ Campbell, thats shocking, we use our money wisely. Campbell's not proven anyway. Your team is average, well how they play as a team anyway, two many new signings all the time which are all average. We always add players that improve our team. Like I said I would do the same as Holloway, and try to actually run it as a 'big club', which can be done but hasnt been done for a while. We're punching above our weight? So our 3 seasons in this league read 17th, 14th, 11th and 7th so far. I think that looks like we're becoming more and more established each year in the championship actually. i think many would agree there. Yes managers do it but just not to the extreme Ollie has. He over exagerated so much, there was no need to do it so much. And the guy who's bank balance is greater than Argyle's, what do you ddo for a living, I'd like to know? i love this!!!! banter with someone who trojan horsed in!!!! you keep saying we are an average side. why? we know this....at the moment. it adds no weight to your argument if the info you supply us with with already know..in great detail! talking about useage of resouces is pointless because we have had only 9 months out of 123 years being owned by a mulit millionaire. a bit of times i required to establish things as you know cos ..at the moment you are an established championship club. again, as i have pointed out in previous posts, whether we are a poor or not at the moment, we have potential to get promoted in the future, however, long thast may be, build and establish ourselves in the prem.potentially!!!! i'd love to see argyle up there but does this idea have the same potential than when applied to city?
Pilgrim_Youth Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Because the size of a football club is largely measured by the playing staff ya see.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Because the size of a football club is largely measured by the playing staff ya see. Oh I see where all this confusion has come from. Just because Barry Hayles is a fat bastard, it doesn't make you a big club.
Simi Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Akos Buszaky is out of contract at the end of the season.

teblin Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 It's not about staying up with us, not reaching the play offs or finishing in the top 10 will be a dissapointmet. Relegation isn't an issue since our first time in this league.Us a nothing club? you havent got a clue. All Leicester have is history and potential. And you have 16 games where you are currently above us.
Bert Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Leicester have started negotiations with Ian Holloway over the vacant manager's role at the club. Holloway handed in his resignation at Plymouth on Wednesday and the Home Park club appear to have accepted it to allow him to talk with the Foxes. A Leicester spokesman said: "He has arrived and is holding talks." The Foxes are searching for their fourth permanent manager of 2007 following spells under Rob Kelly, Martin Allen and Gary Megson. Nigel Worthington also had a spell in charge as caretaker manager. Frank Burrows and Gerry Taggart are currently in temporary charge. Chairman Milan Mandaric wants to unveil a new boss before the club's next game - which is away to Bristol City on 24 November. "We need to sort it out quickly - over the next week or 10 days during this (international) break," Mandaric told the club website. "We need a manager to come in and sort us out and get us on a winning streak and that must happen immediately. "I will keep working on the shortlist to get someone on board who can do that." Out-of-work trio Joe Royle, Peter Reid and Graeme Souness have already been interviewed for the position. I'm going down the ground ina bit, Seee if i can find something out.
mancunianfox Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 I'm going down the ground ina bit, Seee if i can find something out. Take some Pukka pies for Ollie well your there.
teblin Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Because the size of a football club is largely measured by the playing staff ya see. No it doesn't! So you are a bigger club than us, leeds and forest? I don't think so matey! As i said before there was a point 7 years ago we were above the likes of Man utd and Arsenal in the league, it didn't make us a bigger club though did it??
Finnegan Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 WE HAVE MONEY. YOU DON'T. WE HAVE MONEY. YOU DON'T. WE HAVE MONEY. YOU DON'T I'm going to keep doing this until they listen, so you best hope they start listening.
Finn Claw Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 Do we have that much money really? I'd be very suprised if MM splashes a lot of cash this season. He's rich but not by Russion Oligarch standards. lets not forget that he Chairman of our club to try and makes himself some money when he sells us on. I can't see a massive overhaul of playing staff this Jan Motivate the current players and play 4-4-2 i'd say will be Ollie's Job
Finnegan Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 He's a championship chairman he doesn't need to be Roman Abramovic. We consider what we've spent so far as relative pittance, yet it's probably thrice Plymouth's budget for the season.

eaststandtom Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 They are furious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/displayNod...tentPK=19038762 'ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC' 71 readers have commented on this story. Click here to read their views. 07:00 - 22 November 2007 Ten days ago, Ian Holloway described rumours that he was leaving Plymouth Argyle for Leicester City as "absolutely pathetic". He said the reports were "all poppycock". Yesterday he walked out on Argyle and was reported to be in talks with, wait for it, Leicester City. Argyle supporters were furious following the announcement. The Herald's website thisisplymouth.co.uk was inundated with unprecedented levels of visitors and comments. One angry fan summed up the mood when he said: "Thanks for nothing, dude." Holloway was believed to be in Leicester yesterday for talks with chairman Milan Mandaric. Argyle, who confirmed that Holloway had walked out at lunchtime, are to discuss whether to accept his resignation at a board meeting on Friday. Meanwhile, fans are left to wonder who will be running the team on Saturday - and, indeed, for the rest of the season. The mood on the streets of Plymouth last night was one of disappointment and betrayal. Footballer Stacey May, 17, from Beacon Park, said: "I'm shocked, gutted and disappointed. I feel like we've been deceived after everything he said about how much he loved Argyle and all the promises he made. "I think the fans will turn against him now. He was a perfect manager, and now I feel like he's stabbed us in the back. "I'm worried about what will happen to the rest of the team, the contract players and the backroom staff. If he goes to a struggling team it shows it's just about money. It's left a bitter taste in my mouth."
