eaststandtom Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/displayNod...tentPK=19038762 BREAKING NEWS: HOLLOWAY BREAKS HIS SILENCE 3 readers have commented on this story. Click here to read their views. Ian Holloway has broken his silence over his resignation as Plymouth Argyle manager. The 44-year-old is set to be appointed by Leicester City later today after he held talks with Foxes' chairman Milan Mandaric at the Walkers Stadium this morning. Despite repeated attempts, Herald Sport have been unable to talk to Holloway since Monday afternoon. But he gave an interview to Sky Sports News today, where he said: "It's a really difficult situation for myself. I feel like I was getting stereotyped in having no money to spend. "I'm sick and fed up of losing my best players all the time because they outgrow what I can pay them, and I'm not sure that will happen here (at Leicester). "It's a whole new role for me and it's something that I don't feel I could turn down. I have worked hard for 11 years and I have always been the bridesmaid, never the bride, to this type of thing. "It's a challenge for me, and everybody needs a challenge, but that doesn't belittle the relationships I have had before. "I don't know what the people at Plymouth are going to be feeling about me today but I'm ever so sorry. I just felt my heart wasn't there once I knew this might be here. What can I say." Lawyers have spent the morning thrashing out a compensation payment for Holloway, with Argyle thought to want £400,000. Holloway said: "That's beyond me. That's for other people to deal with. All I am is a football manager. The people who are more experienced above me will have to sort that out." His first game as Leicester's new manager will be away to Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Saturday. Argyle travel to Sheffield United on the same day when assistant boss Tim Breacker will pick the team as he takes control of first team affairs for the time being.

So the bald little Bristolian is as near as damn it here. I wonder whether he'll mention Nat King Cole in the Press Conference, he often does.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 So does this mean he's available for the England job?
lookwhaticando Posted 22 November 2007 Posted 22 November 2007 So does this mean he's available for the England job? Not yet... he's not done his six week stint with us yet. Six weeks with us and he'll become hot property... it'll be a two-way tussle between Middlesbrough and the FA for his signature.

Click here to read their views. 07:00 - 22 November 2007 Ten days ago, Ian Holloway described rumours that he was leaving Plymouth Argyle for Leicester City as "absolutely pathetic". He said the reports were "all poppycock". Yesterday he walked out on Argyle and was reported to be in talks with, wait for it, Leicester City. Argyle supporters were furious following the announcement. The Herald's website thisisplymouth.co.uk was inundated with unprecedented levels of visitors and comments. One angry fan summed up the mood when he said: "Thanks for nothing, dude." Holloway was believed to be in Leicester yesterday for talks with chairman Milan Mandaric. Argyle, who confirmed that Holloway had walked out at lunchtime, are to discuss whether to accept his resignation at a board meeting on Friday. Meanwhile, fans are left to wonder who will be running the team on Saturday - and, indeed, for the rest of the season. The mood on the streets of Plymouth last night was one of disappointment and betrayal. Footballer Stacey May, 17, from Beacon Park, said: "I'm shocked, gutted and disappointed. I feel like we've been deceived after everything he said about how much he loved Argyle and all the promises he made. "I think the fans will turn against him now. He was a perfect manager, and now I feel like he's stabbed us in the back. "I'm worried about what will happen to the rest of the team, the contract players and the backroom staff. If he goes to a struggling team it shows it's just about money. It's left a bitter taste in my mouth." Cheeky Bastards!

Why is it that everyone who lives really far North our South has very poor geography, according to the geordies we're a bunch of soft poncey over paid southerners, according to these pricks we're all factory workers who beat our wives (this aint Yorkshire) We live in the Midlands, we aren't poncy pretentious twats, and we're not beer swilling thugs, we're normal. Now unless you have something constructive to say piss off.

Maybe if he knew Leicester had the National Space Centre, Clock Tower AND the refurbished St. Margaret's Bus Station (providing access to two of the premier clubs in the Midlands) he wouldn't be so quick to stereotype. The clown.
