Odihambo Porter I think you have got that about bang on son! I would just lose kenton as well and bring on a centre half from the accademy or bring in one with pace but thats about it!

Milans Foxes Posted 4 December 2007 Posted 4 December 2007 Possible targets in January: Richard Hughes (from Portsmouth, winger, were linked with him in the summer, not played much this season) David Nugent (again not playing much, loan signing would be most realistic, would score the goals needed) Neil Danns (maybe exactly what we need in midfield, only played league cup this season) Damien Johnson (not sure if due to injury but also not been playing, loan perhaps) Steven Reid (coming back from long term injury at Blackburn, a loan to us to get back fitness) Andranik Teymourian (looked a great player at the end of last season for Bolton, end of season loan?) Michael Woods (young chelsea midfielder, highly rated, long term loan?) Robert Earnshaw (Would score for fun in this division, would derby let hhim out on loan??) Lee Cook (is he injured? not played for Fulham this season, seemed good before when playing under holloway!) Daniel Sturridge (end of season loan?, highly rated) Chris Eagles (would be a fantastic loan signing, would they allow it?) John Oster (a decent winger at this level, not played much for Reading) David Connolly (surplus at Sunderland?, would be a good loan or permanent signing) Michael Mifsud (In cov's situation may be looking to offload, if no Premiership interest, we could get him) Sylvain Ebanks-Blake (goalscoring midfielder, played under Holloway, would be a good signing) Collins John (extend loan till end of season) Marton Fulop (Must sign him permanently) Have gone for mainly midfielders as this is where we are weak. If we can get four or five of these players, there is no reason that with the solid defence we already have, we can create and score goals and make a push for the play-offs. Realistically that team (with 11 players) aint gonna happen. But like I say, if we can get 3 or 4, I'd be happy. Oster is at Reading and would be a good, realistic one. Hughes from Pompey as well. Two good wingers at this level. There is no reason why we couldn't get Nugent on loan as Pompey obviously think he is not good enough for the Prem. Teymourian from Bolton would be the creative midfielder we need and Connolly, who is better than what we already have although I think DJ will score with a run in the team and some chances created for him.

No chance of getting Nugent as Pompey will lose about 6 players to the African nations include some African strikers so they`ll need Nugent. I think Mifsud will go but I can see him going to a Wigan or even Derby as they panic and try to stay in the Premiership. I`d like him here as he seems a real handful but I cant see it happening. Peter Halmosi always gets linked and we need a quality left-sided player so lets hope that Ollie raids his old club. More realistic deals will be loan deals though. I`d love us to follow Birminghams example of last season and actually get some quality loanees in as you see what happens when they come, you end up with players like Marton Fulop. I`d go for players that have hardly played this season for their clubs like... Alexandre Song (Arsenal defensive midfielder) Georgios Samaras (Man City -Striker who will want games as preparation for Greece in Euros - Totally frozen out by Sven) Sergio Peter (creative wide player who cant get in the team at Blackburn but has real quality) Nuno Valente (Everton left-back who is experienced and can look good at this poor level) Bobby Zamora (Cant get a game at West Ham and is even behind on loan Camara and Carlton Cole) I know its ambitious to think we should be going for players worth millions but Sunderland added a couple last season and Brum got three and despite struggling this season, we are one of the biggest clubs in the Championship so surely we can get the odd one or two in?

Like the idea of signing some players on loan, especially from Arsenal, who have a crop of promising youngsters who'll want to compete at this level and prove their worth to Wenger. I'd plump for: Fran Merida Vincent Van Den Berg Mark Randall and possibly Sergio Tejera from Chelsea
RowlattsFox Posted 5 December 2007 Posted 5 December 2007 Patrick Berger, although he doesnt have the legs anymore i think he still has the quality on the ball and the vision which is exactly what we need. We could play him on the left or in the middle. David Jones - Has hardly featured for Derby this season and he is not injured as far as i am aware. He was one Derby's best players last season. David Cotterill - He's a young Wigan player who they signed from Bristol City for £2m. He's a striker i think but has played most of his career on the right of midfield. We dont want or need to go over the top in January and sign loads of players, Mattock and Sheehan are just about good enough for us to wait til the summer and i think that our strikers can score enough goals between them to do alright in this league if they given the service.
