Corky Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Yes for 8 years I went to Filbert St every other Saturday it didn't work! Because no other club matters!!! Good answer
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 One of the greatest games I've ever seen at Filbo... We beat Swindon 3-2 in 1987/88 - after being 2-0 down with about 15mins to go !!!
st.ives blue Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Mine was Leicester 4 forest 2, after being 2-0 down in 1967 lots of trouble all round the ground that day.
Pegosteve Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 West Ham at Home Dec 1967 Just done my research and found out we lost 4-2. Somethings never change!
AmericanScott Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 26 December 2004 Lost to Rotherham 0-1. I was so gutted after convincing my dad to put a bet on for me that David Connolly would grab a hat trick.
Asha Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Have you seeked professional help for this addiction? I do something similar, on Excel though.
Corky Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 I do something similar, on Excel though. I'm exactly the same as him, to be honest.
Pegosteve Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 I do something similar, on Excel though. If only excel had been around in the 70's all handwritten in now "tatty" books
RowlattsFox Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 I probably said this earlier in the thread but I might as well say it again. My first game was the Swindon Play-Off final, instantly hooked.
Fosse Boy Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Blackburn Rovers at home in 1995. MY dad's work was on a corporate day and he decided to take me along. We were the only ones who sat out on the balcony and watched the game though. Everyone else was too busy consuming prawn sandwiches. The game itself finished 0-0, not a bad result considering that was the year they won the league and we got relegated. Next game he took me to sit in the Kop for a 2-2 draw against Everton, don't remember who scored but I remember cheering all four goals. Well, I was five at the time...

Fosse Boy Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Draper got one, and I think Iwan got the other? You're probably right, have a vague memory of Joe Parkinson getting sent of for Everton? May have to consult Of Fossils & Foxes later...
syston_fox Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 For older or interested fans I was a sad b*****d in the 70`s and have a complete hand written record of every game played between 1970/71 until 1977/78 seasons. Includes testimonial games, scores, scorers, crowd, league position after every game. Must admit that Ive got something similar on excel for games that I've been to. Not to that extent of yours but it has the date, teams, score, and competition the game was in. Just something I started doing a while ago and continued to do over the years. Quite scary seeing how many games you actually get through in a calender year.
southcoastfox Posted 4 December 2008 Posted 4 December 2008 Leicester 1 Arse 1 Fa Cup 1975? It was a weeknight and thick pea soup fog so we couldn't see the players when they got up the other end. Lads to the front and me and a mate were on match of the day or whatever it was at the time. I remember those steps people used to take in. Can you imagine that now - health and safety would have a fit. Football was better, chips tasted nicer and wagon wheels were bigger.
boneman Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Football League Championship Leicester 2 (2) - 1(1) Peterborough James Thompson Cooper on 14-08-1993 Attendance: 13671 Soccerbase Apologies if this has been a topic before but when i searched for it it came up with over 1000 posts and im too lazy to search through all them. Leicester City v Charlton Athletic Sat 29th Dec 2007/2008 Season Walkers Stadium Attendance - 23,667 Result 1-1 Yes I know, but I'm from Australia and first time overseas. Couldn't believe how guttered I was when McCarthy arsed one into the back of the net. All I can say is I'm glad I saw a goal (Clemence) and we didn't lose...the trip would have been a disaster after that (was traveling with a Palace and Bolton fan). Can't wait to get back. :city:
sdb Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 2-2 v man utd in 97 2 up after about 20 mins - walsh and marshall - classic
TAFKA Castroneves Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 League Cup final '97. My dad took me to see the mighty City vs Boro. Sadly we bought our tickets off a friend's tickets firm in our hometown and we were sat in the middle of the Boro fans. But when Heskey hit the back of the net in the last min of extra time to force a draw I knew I was a City fan.
Asha Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 If only excel had been around in the 70's all handwritten in now "tatty" books My excel stats tell me that tomorrow will be my the 100th Leicester game I've been to. May not sound much compared to most people, but I've only been a season ticket holder recently so for me that's a milestone
surrifox Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 first game was actually a friendly arranged against Crystal Palace in 1967 (I think this was because there was a big freeze and a lot of postponed games so no chance to train properly) First real game was away to Fulham in the same year -Johnny Haynes captained them

billyfox1 Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Is there a site with results on? I remember my first game being against Sheffield Wednesday at Filbert Street in 1993/94 but can't remember the score at all. are you sure it wasn't 94/95. That was my first LCFC game. New Years Eve. It was f***ing freezing
Finnegan Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Was sure I responded to this last year. Oh well, mine was the same as TPH. Boxing day 94, Watford, 4 - 4. I wondered why no one was picking the ball up and couldn't work out why they didn't pick Rory Underwood.
Monk Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Cannot remember the date or team, but it was at home to Notts County in 1992 at Filbert Street. We won 3 - 2 and I was in the double decker with my dad.
