Early 1975

a Great Win away at Spurs :scarf:

We were on a family holiday to England and I was taken by an uncle who had away tickets

I was just about to turn 13.

At home to Liverpool in the 70s. Mid week match and as I recall a draw. We were high in the league at the time under Jock Wallace. I think it was the famous night English footballers first wore tights. Its all too long ago now.

First time at Filbert Street: England U21 v Mexico U21 (24.05.01). Game ended 3-0 to England. Trevor Benjamin made his sole appearance in an England shirt...scary!

First Leicester game: Foxes v Liverpool (20.10.01). Liverpool won 4-1. Hat-trick by Robbie Fowler. Hat-trick of sitters by Akinbiyi.

Leicester vs Leeds. February 1973, Leicester won 2-0 and Terry Yorath got sent off!

Especially sweet as Leeds were flying high then and my primary school was full of fair weather Leeds fans, much like you see fair weather ManU fans today.

Leicester City vs Tranmere Rovers

1991 (I think)

1-0

Russell

In Pen 2 (I reckon) with Tranmere fans next to us. Never been so scared - of our lot, not the away fans. There was a bonfire in there, and the surges kept threatening to crush my sweetbreads against one of those pointless metal barriers they had within the pen every few yards. Coins pinging off the mesh separating the fans. My mate clambered up it (a bit like spiderman) until a policeman 'invited' him back down.

I soon got used to it though. I'd like to see standing brought back, but at the same time, I can see why the powers that be are a bit reluctant to do so

5th Nov 1988

City 0-0 Man City - Barclays 2nd division

1st trip to Filbo was for a school friend's birthday...I dont remember much, apart from thinking Russell Osman was pretty immense - but it was enough to stop a wee lad from supporting that Liverpool team he watched on tele, and start supporting his hometown club like a proper football fan should.

My dream to see Leicester was complete,

Against Watford one day at Filbert Street,

Both teams scored four,

The defending was poor,

Even Ormondroyd got on the scoresheet. (twice).
