The People's Hero Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Was sure I responded to this last year.Oh well, mine was the same as TPH. Boxing day 94, Watford, 4 - 4. I wondered why no one was picking the ball up and couldn't work out why they didn't pick Rory Underwood. Brilliant game!
sbfox Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 I don't have a clue what year it is, but it was at Filbert Street against Grimsby in the early 1990s. Mum took me in to the double decker 'cos thats where she went with her mates, loved it. Score was 1-1, missed their goal as I was too small to see over the guy in front, but saw Joachim equalise in the last minute - a hero was born in my eyes.
billyfox1 Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Cannot remember the date or team, but it was at home to Notts County in 1992 at Filbert Street. We won 3 - 2 and I was in the double decker with my dad. it was 1992 against Notts County
Monk Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Oh well, mine was the same as TPH. Boxing day 94, Watford, 4 - 4. Awesome game. I was sat under the scoreboard in the east stand and people were asking each other 'so what's the score now? 5-3?' Walshie bagged a few that day didn't he?
JakeShingler Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Charlton at Filber St can not remember when tho.

I wondered why no one was picking the ball up and couldn't work out why they didn't pick Rory Underwood. I remember that one, my whole family used to to out boxing day for a meal I refused and went to filbo instead, what a match it was.

Pegosteve Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 1976 at Filbert street first game of the season against Man City 2 -2 Worthington scored both Afraid it was a myth Frank scored in every game. Brian Alderson and Chris Garland in this one.
James. Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 I think we were playing Watford. And I think we lost 2-1. I have absolutely no idea what year it was. Early-mid 90's? Maybe.
CosbehFox Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Football League Championship Leicester 2 (2) - 1(1) Peterborough James Thompson Cooper on 14-08-1993 Attendance: 13671 Soccerbase Apologies if this has been a topic before but when i searched for it it came up with over 1000 posts and im too lazy to search through all them. Same here - sat in the double decker. I went a game before that against Pompey 1-1 but I cried for most of it.
Tevez Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Sheffield Wednesday at home then Southampton at home, 1997 or 1998. Could be way opposite way rounds.
Cropwellfox Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 23rd December 1984 Leicester 5 - 1 Coventry Could a debut be better? Think Lineker and Smith scored 2 each? Thought it was going to be like that every week. Poor deluded child....
Finnegan Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 Awesome game. I was sat under the scoreboard in the east stand and people were asking each other 'so what's the score now? 5-3?' Walshie bagged a few that day didn't he? No idea. The Rory Underwood thing was a joke, but I really hadn't seen much football at all before then - only rugby. So I honestly didn't actually have much of a clue what was going on. My only memory of the day is the view I had, I don't remember any of the action. I remember the program had a picture of Steve Agnew on the front, though. Proper footballer. Well ugly.
Ultra Posted 5 December 2008 Posted 5 December 2008 I think we were playing Watford. And I think we lost 2-1. I have absolutely no idea what year it was. Early-mid 90's? Maybe. 21 March 1992. David James had a stormer for Watford and Jimmy Willis had a mare for us, leaving the pitch in tears at half-time and having to be subbed.
