They are sitting at a solid mid table but they have lost their last two games quite heavily. 4-0 away to Southampton and 3-0 away to Preston.

I think this would be our strongest side at the moment. The only change maybe for me would be to have Mattock at LB and Sheehan Left Wing, get them crosses in for Hume and Fryatt. Kaebi gives us more pace down the right and if he is to bed in to the side and get use to the English game he needs a steady run of games.

Thracian Posted 12 December 2007 Posted 12 December 2007 Every time I try to pick a Leicester side I see problems. Most important Saturday is to stay tight defensively yet score goals. Our main source of goals right now is Sheehan free kicks. That means we need enough aerial players to make them dangerous. We have tall, strong defenders to help but we need a striker too. John or Cort. Holloway likes 4-4-2 and wide men so I've gone with that. I am not convinced of Kaebi and would much rather we have Gradel back but I've picked him to help the speed and the shape of the team. I still have reservations about leaving Stearman out cos I don't like mending what was not necessarily broken. But we need to take the team forward and this might be a start. You will see that Clemence and Mattock are dropped. I honestly don't think either has been especially effective all season. Fulop; Chambers, McAuley, Kisnorbo, Sheehan; Kaebi, King, Kenton, Hayes, Hume, Cort. Subs: Stearman, N'Gotty, Mattock, Fryatt, John. Kisnorbo/Mcauley are chosen as centre-backs because they're best able to feed off Sheehan's free kicks. Up front I want Kaebi well forward and being positive. Cort will offer a lasting target for Sheehan. The team has 5.5 potential scorers by my means of calculation - acceptable for an away game - and yet has KIng/Kenton in midfield who can both cope well with defensive duties. Pace comes from Chambers, Kaebi, Hayes and Hume which is about as much as we could muster in one team unless we played two small players up front which wouldn't help Sheehan.

Easily and I've referred to it many times. For instance McAuley/Kisnorbo have scored some vital goals for us but not consistently. I rate them for team-balance purposes as worth 0.5 each as potential scorers. Sheehan the same. Someone like Hume or Fryatt would rate a full point. That would not always be justified but both are specialist strikers and the potential is there for them to score both because of their position in the team and their ability. I don't pretend that's it's a full-proof system but it helps in trying to assemble a side which is not overloaded with players who have little hope of scoring for various reasons, like Chambers, Kenton, Mattock, N'Gotty.

Unfortunately the centre of midfield picks itself at the moment as there is no-one else to play there. Soemthing i thought about this morning was Hayes playing centre midfield, he likes to drift when he plays on the wing, sometimes finding himself on the right, I think he could be an asset running at the centre backs. I wouldnt try this away from home but maybe its something we should try at home. I think John needs to start to add some physical strength upfront, although he is lazy if we do get a chance he is probably most likely to finish it then any other striker we have. Hume has got 3 in 3 so he has to partner him. First and foremost this is a game we cant really afford to lose, both teams are on a poor run of results, i think its got draw written all over it.

Clemence has been garbage for too long now, he shouldn't be invinsible because he was good last year.
