Koke Posted 18 December 2007 Posted 18 December 2007 At risk at sounding controversial, I just think its some slapper trying to buy herself some tabloid headlines. Police are investigating the alleged rape of a 26-year-old woman at a hotel where Manchester United players and other guests were attending a party. The alleged attack took place at the Great John Street Hotel in Manchester in the early hours of Tuesday. Hotel managers confirmed the venue was fully booked out for a private party. Police are refusing to confirm or deny the involvement of any players in the incident at the city centre hotel but are continuing inquiries. The hotel is a boutique "town house" hotel converted from a Victorian schoolhouse, situated in the trendy Castlefield area of Manchester. 'Inquiries continuing' A hotel spokesman said: "We're helping the police with an investigation." A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "Police are currently investigating a report of rape at a hotel in Manchester city centre. "[Officers] were called to the hotel on Great John Street to a report that a 26-year-old woman had been raped. "Inquiries are continuing." A Manchester United spokeswoman declined to comment. Police were called to the hotel shortly after 0400 GMT. Link
Geo V Posted 18 December 2007 Posted 18 December 2007 In every walk of life you have idiots and Im sure that many footballers would slot into that description. Its probably worse with young rich men who probably think they can get away with literal murder.
AyewJoking Posted 18 December 2007 Posted 18 December 2007 Ronaldo by any chance Crossed my mind also.
Durnerz Posted 18 December 2007 Posted 18 December 2007 I was going to say Rooney but shes a bit young...
Nationwider Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Sky News suggests Ronaldo wasn't there, and that the police have arrested a 19 year old on suspicion of rape. As with all these things (La Manga, anyone?) its probably better to wait and see if the allegations pan out or not...

Asha Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Agreed, it always is...i just think there's too much of a link between the fact that Man Utd were staying there, she's getting in the papers though whoever it is.
Tommy G Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Ronaldo by any chance Why even suggest him. He's older than 19 for starters. secondly he could pull most women on the planet so really wouldn't need to rape them? My money's on Chris Eagles or Danny Simpson
The People's Hero Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 secondly he could pull most women on the planet so really wouldn't need to rape them? I can't even begin to describe how ridiculous that is!
Asha Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Looking at the Man U squad, how many 'youth' players are constantly loaned out that are now 22/23. Surely they would want to move permanently. Rooney's 22. Seems only yesterday he were 16 and playing for Everton.
Asha Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 that 19 thing is a load of bollocks. It's really Alex Ferguson
Alexikokopops Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Why even suggest him. Erm, I think people might be suggesting him because he's been arrested on a charge of rape before? I'm putting it out there. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/4357914.stm
AoWW Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 Latest link Jonny Evans presented himself to police last night. Me agrees with the 'some slapper out to make a name for herself' theory though. Astonishing the number of supposed 'rapes' that footballers are accused of. I'm not specifically referring to this case - not enough details to go on - but generally if you're dumb enough to put yourself in the situations some of these women have, you really can't be too surprised at the outcome. Am I saying they 'ask for it'? Yes, much as it saddens me to say it, I am.
Tommy G Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 It was Van Persie last time accused wasn't it? Rape isn't a laughing matter, but the banter when he went to away games was funny...songs such as ''Van-per-sie...when a girl says no...molest her!'' To the tune of Craig david - Rewind Jonny Evans it is then

Tommy G Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 In that article it says that RVP was bought by Arsenal for £2.75 mill?! Thats unbelieveable considering the player he is now. Another great signing by Arsene
Manwell Pablo Posted 19 December 2007 Posted 19 December 2007 In that article it says that RVP was bought by Arsenal for £2.75 mill?!Thats unbelieveable considering the player he is now. Another great signing by Arsene Kolo Toure, £150,000. Unbelivable. People wonder why he doesn't sign English players, not a suprise when you have to pay 7-8 million pounds for players that aren't as talented as some of the ones you could get for less than half that if you looked around Europe.

I actually think Arsene is the only person that can do that. Viera/fabregas came for next to nothing. The only player he has ever got wrong was selling David Bentley

It's depressing if a rape has been committed and it's depressing if it is a complete fabrication because it's hard enough to get convictions for actual rapes as it is, without another made up one being added to the pot
