Hi,

I think David Norris would be a good signing for Leicester City. So come on Ian Holloway get and sign him up before he's gone, Because we've had a draw against Norwich City today. It shows we are improving in area's, With two clean sheets now which is a plus.

plymouth fans seem to of totally forgotten that one of the reasons Holloway left was because he knew the team he built would be broken up in the january window. And suprise suprise - looks whats happening... players are being sold!

does anyone know how many players they ahve sold now in this transfer window? Norris will clearly be next especially as he has handed in a tranfer request...

I think they have got rid of like 4 or 5 players so far, and looks like Norris will be next!

Hopefully to us!

I have just had a bit of a look through the Plymouth site and it is really funny. They have the opinion that Norris can leave but can go anywhere but leicester. Do they really think that they can choose who Norris next employer is going to be or do they think Norris will choose. They are really narrow minded and have an amazing hatred for Leicester. I cant remember feeling like that when O'Neil left and took Lennon with him.

Should make for a good atmosphere when they come down in a few weeks, I hope we have signed Norris by then too, just to spice it up a bit!!!

I do remember however feeling exactly the same about Mark McGhee when he left in similar circumstances for Wolves, who at the time were lower than us in the league, but historically a bigger club. Their bitterness will recede when they get their next bit of success, like ours did when we won th play offs that season.

Well, looks like their fan's anger worked. Norris has gone to Ipswich today (SSN ). Would have been a good player for us, but I think Norris didn't want to upset the fans down there. Either that, or Ipswich are a bigger and better off club than us.

Wasn't our last bid before we got oakley?

I'd have thought we aren't interested any more though we still need another midfielder so might be wrong.

DEMAND TURNED TOWN

http://www.pafc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsD...1221842,00.html

Argyle can confirm that they have recieved a written request for a transfer from midfielder norris.

After due consideration, the request has been refused by the club.

:blink::o:o:S

but holloway said he wasnt leaving plymouth so you dont know what to believe these days!

http://www.clubfanzine.com/ipswich_town/showNews.php?id=7903 AND IN MANY PAPERS

Plymouth Argyle manager Paul Sturrock attended a board meeting yesterday afternoon held to discuss Town's latest offer for David Norris. The Blues made a renewed bid last Thursday, understood to be £1.75 million plus add-ons which would take the fee towards £2 million.

Plymouth are still to confirm whether Norris has handed in a transfer request, as widely reported, while the midfielder was missing from a squad trip to HMS Albion yesterday.

Leicester City are also continuing to chase Norris, although whether they have actually made a bid is also yet to be confirmed.

Town are reported to have withdrawn from the race to sign Birmingham City full-back Mat Sadler. The 22-year-old is now expected to join Watford, with Wolves having a bid turned down.

The Blues were amongst a number of Championship sides reportedly interested in Sadler, who has been told he can leave St Andrew's.

Town's Jaime Peters is claimed to be a loan target of Rumanian side Steaua Bucharest. Canadian international Peters, who has admitted difficulties into settling into life in England, seems unlikely to want to make a switch to Eastern Europe.

Already playing in Rumania is former Blue Sixto Peralta, who signed for league leaders CFR Cluj on a free transfer from River Plate last week.

Meanwhile, Town chairman David Sheepshanks has joined the board of FA Learning, the arm of the FA which deals with coaching education.

i think that MAYBE the first one may have come as a conclusion of this board meeting so it was another way of saying that ipswich's bid was rejected again!

EDIT:

i was correct.

Plymouth Argyle have announced that they have turned down David Norris's request for a transfer. The Pilgrims board and manager Paul Sturrock met yesterday to discuss Norris's proposed move to either Town or Leicester City.

A statement on the Plymouth site reads: "Argyle can confirm that they have received a written request for a transfer from midfielder David Norris.

"After due consideration, the request has been refused by the club."

On Thursday, Town made their second bid for the 26-year-old midfielder, believed to be £1.75 million rising to £2 million.

but like i said you never know until its official!

ipswich will end up getting him , they are being very persistent and none of the links say that we have actually offered a * figure bid , they have for ipswich! Ollie has claimed he is interested but no fee has been bounded about and we dont know whos tactic will work, Ollies keep it quiet or Magiltons - F**k it let everybody know!

If they won't even accept offers near £2 million then is he worth pursuing? We could get him cheaper in the summer

doubt that, the thing is they know people are interested and they probably want a bidding war but ollie is not stupid and he has more to offer, they know each other, so we could call that having an upper hand but ipswich are obviously willing to bound about as many fees as possible and to be honest i dont know if hes worth those fee's, ive never seen him play and i dont really know anything about norris!?? its plymouths bloody fault for agreeing a 50% sell on clause with bolton the tit heads, so it makes you wonder how they value the player, whether they value him at 1million but need 2 so the other 50% can go to bolton!?? :dunno::dunno:

He's completely overpriced due to the % of the fee that goes to Bolton, it's not worth it. Do some scouting and we could get at least 3 players as good as Norris from around Europe.

I totally agree. I like Norris, he's got better and better in the past few seasons but he's not worth £2 million, not even slightly. It's not like he's a young kid either.

Penrice, get cracking.

Agree you could get better footballers around europe but they haven't played in the championship. It is completely different to any other division/league

Norris has proven himself at this level and done very well.

£2 million is very steep though.

But you would be getting a proven championshiip performer, who oliie know very well.
