I've got a really good feeling about these Hungarians.

Good? I'll believe it all when I see it. I just wonder how many times Holloway has seen these wizards play, who he's seen them play against and in what circumstances.

To be fair to Holloway, he's had quite some success with the Hungarians he's signed so far (Buszaki, Halmosi, Fulop). It must mean that his scouts are relatively dependable, no?

Fulop was signed under Allen.

Halmosi > them

end of.

But you haven't seen them play, probably never even seen what they look like.

Fool.

In my Hungarian opinion I would say Laczkó has the potential to surpass Halmosi. Laczkó has far more quality on the ball. But Halmosi

has tactical knowledge and stamina. I'm sure that'll come with Laczkó.. and he'll be a much better player than Halmosi. I've given up on Halmosi for the NT but look to Laczkó among others. However I think Bori will never be as good as Halmosi.

Lot of people rate Bori higher than me...but nobody even mentions him for the national team.

And I think another manager signed one of the other two!!! :)

Ok ok! :crylaugh:

So he hasn't signed Buszaki, but arguably rated him as Plymouth's best player under his tenure, and he obviously rated Fulop. He's signed another two now. He likes those Magyars! :giggle:

I'm quietly confident about these two.

Hopefully these two are who we've been cring out for for so long.

But I've been disappointed too many times this season with signings and I just hope they're not bloody useless like most of the others.

Until I actually see them play, I'm indifferent towards them. Plenty of hype surrounding these two, but as rightly pointed out by Manwell, they could be a couple of duffers once they play competitive Championship football. Jimmy Casino and Hellings obviously didn't get the chance to play in the first team but it's obvious they weren't good enough given that we've had 5 different managers this season.

Gary Penrice is the Hungary expert. Holloway did not sign Buzsaky he was already with us from Porto signed through an agent. Holloway signed Halmosi and Timar from Hungary via Penrice, they have turned out to be excellent signings, hope you have as much success with your Hungarians, for a time we considered changing our name to Plymouth Magyle

As Plymouth Pete has said, Holloway has a very, very astute scout in Gary Penrice who identifies a lot of potential targets, especially from abroad. These two were both lined up for trials at Plymouth before Holloway and co left to come to us. So there's obviously been a significant amount of groundwork done. Holloway's then seen them in training and practice matches for a week, so after all of that if he's signed them it's because he's impressed by them.

Whether they will become a success here or not is obviously not guaranteed, but at least we can rest assure that there's been some thought process go in to these two signings where as when Mandaric and Allen collected the likes of Hellings, Neilson and Kaebi, there obviously wasn't any research done because Allen and then the rest of our managers thought they were all guff.

Hellings

Don Mckay had him on trial at Boro

Neilson

We had tried to sign him at least once before

Kaebi

Mandy tried to sign him when he was at Pompy

From that I would guess some scouting had also gone on. :(

That is a ridiculous statement given your stance on our youngsters who are apparently amazing because they won a cup against players 2 years their junior!

I still would imagine there's been a lot more preperation and research gone in to these two signings. Penrice's reputation for unearthing decent foreign players is fairly good, but then againw e thought McKay's was as well.

I still believe Kaebi is a quality player, but probably not suited to aggressive football like we play in this division.

Time will tell.... the law of averages states we must eventually get someone half decent!!!!! :)

I seem to remember Buzsaky was shown the door at Plymouth despite having agreed terms on a new contract because Holloway refused to pay a seperate fee to his agent...not exactly what you do to somebody who you consider to be the best player at your club.

regarding the Hungarians I'm glad they're here and I'm glad that we finally have some wingers however I am worried that we are beginning to believe that Hungary is some kind of footballing magic land that produces nothing but great players.

If every players to come out of Hungary is going to set the championship alight then surely there national team would be doing a whole lot better than they are at the moment.

I really hope these two prove to be very succesful signings but I don't want to fall into the obvious trap of thinking "that Gera he's great and he's Hungarian so all Hungarians must be great"

I'll reserve judgement until they've played a few games so have I got a "good feeling" about the Hungarians?? Not yet!

You do spout shit.

Talking to you about football is like trying gto fill a toilet by pissing in it.

As for your continual knocking of the youngsters, you should be ashamed.

I presume it's because you've dabbled at sport but never got anywhere.

Easy to see why really given the amount of time you spend on here when you could/should be working.
