Plymouth Pre-Match

I want to beat Leicester more for the fact that its fans are unbelievably arrogant and suffering from 'MASSIVE club syndrome'! Poor MASSIVE Leicester in the championship. Surely a club of your size should be winning the European cup year in year out? Think its a lot of you fellas that need to get real. Plymouth have spent most of their existance in this division so we probably are at our level. To compare us with S****horpe is laughable and shows what you really know about football. I fully expect us to lose on Saturday but thats because im a pessimist. Our away record is almost as good as your home record so thats absolutely no reason why we shouldnt be beating the likes of Leicester who are not as good as little Plymouth (The table doesn't lie), even if you are so much more MASSIVE (yawn) than us. Sturrock wasnt given time at Southampton or Sheff Wed so its no wonder he didnt do anything at either of those clubs. Holloways record of one promotion and one relegation is outstanding though, i have to admit. I hope he does as well at Leicester!

Coming from plymouth i would like to know where you get your data from?

from what i can remember the pilgrims have spent more seasons in the THIRD level of English football not the second, and you will achive the same this season as Leicester NOTHING you will still be in this league next season the same as us, only next season we will be near the top and you will be very near the bottom

We do not think we are massive. We are not. But we are bigger than you. I've been a football fan since 1993/1994. In that time, including this season, we have spent 8 years as a Premier League club, and seven at Championship level. Plymouth have spent 4 years at Championship level, 6 years at League One level and 5 years in the basement. So going on recent history at least, you have spent 11 out of 15 seasons in Divisions to which Leicester have never dropped. Most of the Argyle fans that have come to these forums since Oliie joined City, seem to believe that because they have been playing at this level for four years they deserve to be recognised as a club of equal size to our own. Rubbish. Certainly on playing terms, you deserve your status as at least our equal currently. But Plymouth will never be as big a club as Leicester, even allowing for future success. Rochdale will never be a Plymouth, Plymouth will never be a Leicester, Leicester will never be an Aston Villa and Aston Villa will never be a Manchester United. Its the way of football.

The man Wesolowski is miles better than Clemance

I'm sorry, but he just isn't. Don't listen to Uncle Thracian so much. He means well, but sometimes nurse forgets to take him his tablets.

You don't know a lot of Leicester fans then.

I don't think we suffer from an awful abundance of arrogance. We've seen what Bates has done to Leeds and we could've gone the same way a few years back when Administration was looming above our heads. If it hadn't been for that consortium, LCFC would've folded.

Now, when you're saying that we suffer from a "Massive Club Syndrome" I suppose you're talking about our stadium, the fanbase and the money? See, with big money come big expectations. We were spoiled. Once you've had that sweet smell of Premier League experience, it's hard to get rid of it. The years under O'Neill were certainly a highlight for any Leicester City supporter. I must say I don't expect an immediate return to the Prem. IN all honesty, with some minor exceptions, we've always been a First Division (e.g. Championship) force, but one that had to be reckoned with. And we've had some decent cup successes whilst being down here, too.

You'll find an awful lot of LCFC supporters that are complaining for a good reason. It's not just the illusion of an immediate return to the top tier, it's the fact that in the past few years, we've always been brainwashed with "spectacular signings" of "outstanding" football players and managers alike. But promises were made that could not be kept. Those praised and overpaid individuals - living off the past glory of the club - mostly underperformed on the pitch. Luckily, we got that sorted now - look at how long we had to endure poor performances by those uninterestd individuals! And it took Mandaric a while to sort out which manager would fit the club structure and player mentality best. Levein, Kelly, Megson, the Dynamic Duo and now Holloway. I know this manager's roundabout does look ridiculous, but I guess that's what you have to live with when a club's experimenting with a new long-term strategy. Nobody wishes Holloway bad luck, we all know all too well what pawns managers can be from an owner's perspective. I personally hope Ollie all the best whilst being here.

Besides, we won our trophies whilst playing at Filbert Street - a "small" stadium with 22'000 seats towards the end of its existence, but with one of the best atmospheres in the country. The successes of the past were a result of tremendous team spirit, fighting force, fantastic fan support and... luck.

You lot should get real and accept the fact that Plymouth playing in the Championship probably compares to us playing in the top flight. Enjoy your time here, but don't expect it to last forever. I see your Argyle fellas on here ranting on and on about "Bad Boy" Holloway, but please - give me a break. Those childish outbursts are as ridiculous as your own expectations. And as one of your fellow Plymouth fans has already put it, your a League One side at best.

Since 1880, we have spent 56 (approx) of those years in the Championship and 44 (approx) in the top league.

Based on the last 50 years we've been in the Top league more than the Second tier

Since I've been going down circa 1960 we've had 19 seasons at Championship Level and 28 at Premiership level.

I'm suprised Plymouth fans can still come on here with any pride left. Is it not obvious now why Holloway left?? Your club sold all the good players he brought to the club! You had a genuine shot at Play-offs! Just crazy! I doubt any manager would have accepted year after year of that. Building up a great team through hard work and scouting and then have it torn apart at every transfer window. That to me shows a club with no ambition! You could have easily done a Bristol City. Just think if you hadn't had sold all your best players, Holloway would still be there, you would probably be sitting in a nice play-off position, and dreaming of the impossible...Plymouth in the Premiership and 30miilion pounds in back pocket and set-up with money for years to come..................OH well I guess not!!

when you were 4th in the League and enjoying the most success of your history you STILL weren't filling your ground while we were getting 10,000 more fans when struggling at the bottom despite being in a 2 sport City, central so we have a lot of our population being Man Utd, Arsenal fans etc. THAT is why we are bigger then you, but that doesn't make us a big club

We really need to win this one. 11 points off the playoffs with 16 games left.

11 wins out of 16 games needed.

Theres still a chance.

It's all a crazy dream now though.

But so was going to Chelsea scoring 3 and nearly winning?

So was winning the League Cups?

So was beating Villa when we all thought Young and Agbonlahor would destroy us?

Crazy dreams can come true you know ;)

I don't want to see us get relegated though, 3 points are vital in this match.

Watford away will probably be a defeat on Tuesday.

Jeez!!you still harping on about us not being a big club?We pay to watch crap fooball every week, were just above the relegation zone and were getting 23/24000 on average.I cant even be bothered to read your attendences but im sure there not much more then 12000 on average which is about half of our average. You should be ashamed of yourselfs, especially when youve been up there chasing the playoffs.Ollie loves it here on the big stage, you will see if you come on Sat what a big crowd is,even with Sky there we will have more then 23000,and will you sell your allocation for what seems your biggest game of the season?i doubt it.

I want to beat you because you are a bunch of carrot crunching, bunny boiling inbreds. Who continually spout shite on here, and wonder why people think you are a bunch of t*ats.

Don't think anyone here thinks that. There's hardly anyone left here that thinks we should even be in the Premiership. We just think - sorry, make that know - that we always have been and always will be a bigger club than Plymouth.

Now **** off.

It could go one way or the other :) If it's still easily possible for us to make the playoffs and obviously easily mathimatically possible for us to go down, then whats wrong with my post?

We could make the playoffs we could go down, the season is not over

But you said play-offs were off if we lost to Blackpool.

You're in it for a wind up. :yesyes:
