maddog Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 How has it come to this. All the pre-season optimism, the world class Hossein Kaebi and the transfer coup of Carl Cort. The 4-1 win against table topping Watford. The amazing signing of Clemence, player of the year at Birmingham who were promoted. The good signing of Dj Campbell, pacey striker who also scored goals for Birmingham. The win against Forest, against Villa and the huge moral victory against Chelsea scoring 3 goals. The optimism when Ollie arrived, a great win against Bristol City. An amazing Hungarian performance against Cov, a great win. The signing of Oakley for just 500k, Derby's best performer in the Premiership he will rip up the Championship. Steve Howard, 20 odd goals last season in Derby's promotion season. The fact we have one of the best defences in the league. And yet we are just 3 points above bottom, an unbelieveable position to be in with the players we have. Spent the most money of any team in the division and we still can't get anywhere. Yet we can't score any goals, or defend well anymore Ollie will be gone soon if we keep losing but who would want to manage us then? I just can't believe how this season has turned out after all that optimism. So what has happened to Leicester City, what has happened?
purpleronnie Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 I still feel we have a poor side maybe not as bad as our league place suggests but this rubbish about play offs is pie in the sky stuff. Tactically we are poor, goal scoring has been our biggest flaw, the strikers bought in are not good enough.
Joe. Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 No....seriously....the transfer coup of Carl Cort? Behave.
maddog Posted 13 February 2008 Author Posted 13 February 2008 No....seriously....the transfer coup of Carl Cort? Behave. Thats what it said on the official website when we got him though.
Cal Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 I find myself actually agreeing with you, the players we have on our books at the minute should be playing alot better. On paper I think we have quite a few quality players for this division, its just getting them to perform.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Three words... In con cistancy Different managers - different players - different systems If you had as many different bosses - different workmates - been told to do your job a different way every other week, you'd be a lot more demoralised at work than you are at the moment (and if you're not demoralised by your work, good for you! )
RowlattsFox Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 I think I am right in saying we have signed 23 players since the end of last season That can't be good.
davieG Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 I think I am right in saying we have signed 23 players since the end of last season They weren't any good.
maddog Posted 13 February 2008 Author Posted 13 February 2008 I think we should so what that other club did whoever they were, and the fans buy the club. Then it will be the fans who decide whether to spend money, who to appoint, when to sack etc. If 2000 fans paid 5 grand each we could buy them That probably won't happen though. My other idea is that the fans text in a half time saying who they want subed on or off. Ollie can accept or reject the fans advice if he wants, but if 10,000 fans text in saying get whoever off and whoever on, surely Ollie will listen.
Stevosevic Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 I honestly believe this club has got cancer, but we will battle through and beat it!
Joe. Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Thats what it said on the official website when we got him though. It doesn't mean it actually is a coup though does it?
lildave3 Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Well, basically, surprisingly, we haven't amassed enough points.
step Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 Though we could do with better players, It is not the lack of quality in the squad that concerns me. Its the players total lack of drive and commitment that worries me. Ok Ollie has inherited a lot of unhappy players, but he has brought in new players and he has now, had enough time to turn the squad into a team that for 90 minutes, give their heart and sole for the Club, manager and fans. But, that is just not happening. The players know how little they are contributing. They know how much they are letting Ollie down. They definatly know what this is doing to the fans. And thick as they may be, they know that the club is facing relegation. Yet they just dont seam to care. Why? Is there anyone that can give me a logical explination? Because I con only think of one reason A manager with poor man managment skills

Have you seen the garbage in this league mate? We are under-achieving but we have got and have had decent players this season. Unfortunately we are without direction, leadership or belief at the moment and its been the same all season with this manager mess that has occurred.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 I've done alot of research and study on this but i may still be wrong so i will stick my balls on the line any way and say we haven't won enough games
Monk Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 The 4-1 win against table topping Watford. When did this happen? News to me? My records state we did not play Watford at home this season. Never happened.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 When did this happen? News to me? My records state we did not play Watford at home this season. Never happened. I think your right i can't remember that game, But i remember hearing about a home debut at Home against Watford for a future LCFC Legend may have been a dream tho
MikeyT Posted 13 February 2008 Posted 13 February 2008 No....seriously....the transfer coup of Carl Cort? Behave.
Flynny Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 no teamplay/team spirit Nail. Head. No-one makes runs or plays for each other. It's that basic.
jonw88 Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I had a really weird dream last night.... I was looking at the OS (typical dream obviously) and there was breaking news that Clemence had broken his leg in training and was retiring! Omen of things to come??
MC Prussian Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I honestly believe this club has got cancer, but we will battle through and beat it! I wish the OS would be that straightforward for once. It'll never happen.
acooling08 Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 LONG BALL LONG BALL LONG BALL LONG BALL '' '' '' '' i could go on
Jon the Hat Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 It doesn't mean it actually is a coup though does it? Maybe they meant croup..
