Guest Posted 31 January 2008 Posted 31 January 2008 That's good news. Isn't his contract with us up at the end of this season anyway?
Jack Posted 31 January 2008 Posted 31 January 2008 That's good news. Isn't his contract with us up at the end of this season anyway? Alan Maybury - 08/08/1978 - 06/01/2005 - July 2008 You are right, Sir
FleckneyFox Posted 31 January 2008 Posted 31 January 2008 Little summary of transfers at bottom makes me think thats all we're doing today
Tevez Posted 31 January 2008 Posted 31 January 2008 OMG?!?! This is what make late night deadline deals so so special.
Aberdeen_fox Posted 31 January 2008 Posted 31 January 2008 Quite happy on both fronts. I actually thought Holloway had already freed him.
Blue Bob Posted 31 January 2008 Posted 31 January 2008 Excellent news, nearly everyone gone who should have gone. De Vries GONE Cort GONE Maybury LOAN Douglas LOAN Kenton GONE Nielson GONE Newton GONE Just Hellings, Kishishev, Kaebi and Hammond left to go .... 50 minutes on the clock
Daggers Posted 31 January 2008 Posted 31 January 2008 Just Hellings, Kishishev, Kaebi and Hammond left to go .... 50 minutes on the clock If push comes to shove, I'm sure they'll be sent out on a cruise of the Norwegian fijords for the rest of the season.
CKB Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Darn it. We could do with a right back. I agree i am VERY worried!
calum Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Hi Can anyone give us long-suffering Aberdeen fans the scoop on this guy? We sold our best right back to Preston and most of us are unsure whether or not Jackie MacNamara still has the quality to compete for the position. This one came out of nowhere, no one even realised he was training with Hearts until we got him!! How long has he been out of the team? Did something happen with the manager/other players? IS HE INJURY PRONE??? What kind of wage is he on at Leicester? IS HE INJURY PRONE??? IS HE INJURY PRONE?? I remember him doing well for Hearts, and then Levein took him down to Leicester.. can he still do the job or is he past it?? We're of the opinion that its a good signing for us, a decent new right back (although if you believe our tactically useless manager we already have 15+ right backs) and only till the end of the season so we can ship him if hes crap. Any opinions welcomed!

He started off very well here, but when we turned down a bid from Sunderland he went into a sulk he never came out of, not played since Ollie as Stearman and Chambers have the RB slot wrapped up between them, could easily do a job in this league or the SPL. Megson used him a couple of times in Midfield and no, he isn't injury prone

Any opinions welcomed! Knows your division well from his time at Hearts, they absloutley loved him there, played UEFA cup football. should be a good signing for you even if he getting on. As has been said first season/season and a half he looked a very competent player, after which Kelly moved him to the right wing where he isn't so great, we turned down bids from Sunderland for him, things generally went pair shaped. I know it says he can play left back or in midfield on your OS but he's garbage in both positions, most definatley a right back.
Mr Happy Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Excellent news, nearly everyone gone who should have gone.De Vries GONE Cort GONE Maybury LOAN Douglas LOAN Kenton GONE Nielson GONE Newton GONE Just Hellings, Kishishev, Kaebi and Hammond left to go .... 50 minutes on the clock Those loans need to be made permanant moves next so hopefully their both out of contract in the summer, save us paying them off But at least the list of deadwood is steadily decreasing now which is a bloody good thing, more money to sign a couple of decent players come the summer I can also see Ollie adding players to that list of 'Who to get rid of next' mentioning no names... Shush!

Mark Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 just what was needed, replaced with good quality Oakley & Alnwick yes but I wouldn't put Steve Howard, Barry Hayles and Jamie Clapham in the good quality catagory from what I've seen (and in Claphams case know) so far. Hungarians are difficult to judge yet, but one thing we needed was extra options on the wing other than them and we've failed to get that.

Hungarians are difficult to judge yet, but one thing we needed was extra options on the wing other than them and we've failed to get that. Steve Howard and even the OAP Hayles have been very good so far! I think the top promotion chasing teams would have liked Howard! Hayles has got 2 goals in 3!!! CLapham is experienced back-up to Mattock on a free! I agree with you on the Hungarians. I don't know what you were expecting this window, but I think we have done pretty well. I still think holloway will have a least one extra winger arrive on loan shortly! We don't know how much MM gave Holloway to spend, some rumours say that it is costing MM shedloads to pay off these Allen signings!!
Mark Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Slight improvement, but their general play has been very poor IMO, especially Howards, his lack of movement and pace is quite painful (for me) to watch. (probably due to all those years suffering from watching Scowcroft )
