Simi Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Prince Harry has been fighting the Taliban on the front line in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed. The 23-year-old Household Cavalry officer has spent the past 10 weeks secretly serving in war-ravaged Helmand Province. Harry said: "Going from bullet magnet to anti-bullet magnet, most of the guys were pretty bummed I was here because nothing was happening for the first few days. But things are picking up now." Harry in Afghanistan Prime Minister Gordon Brown said the prince has been an "exemplary" soldier, adding: "The whole of Britain will be proud of the outstanding service he is giving." The deployment was cloaked in secrecy under a news blackout deal agreed across the UK media to prevent details reaching the Taliban and endangering Harry and his comrades. Link Fair play to the lad.
MPH Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 LinkFair play to the lad. i always thought hw would be out there without anyone knowing. You can bet your bottom dollar that he has at least 20 SAS chaps completly for his protection. That may well give the game away. The guy just wants to be a normal man and do normal things... dont know how feasable that is though... but good for him !

He does seem to want to lead a normal life, good on him.
filbertway Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 If he dies prepare for a chandler consspiracy.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Yeah, you're probably right. He does seem to want to lead a normal life, good on him. A normal life? Sit him in an office for 37 hours a week sneaking the odd glance at the BBC Football website and trying to avoid the weirdo from accounts.
Simi Posted 28 February 2008 Author Posted 28 February 2008 A normal life? Sit him in an office for 37 hours a week sneaking the odd glance at the BBC Football website and trying to avoid the weirdo from accounts. Life upstairs treating you well then...
lildave3 Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 A normal life? Sit him in an office for 37 hours a week sneaking the odd glance at the BBC Football website and trying to avoid the weirdo from accounts. Yeah like you don't live in a Palace.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Life upstairs treating you well then... I'm actually enjoying it, bizarrely! I think the LCFC forum was getting more depressing than actually working all day. Been writing webpages and all sorts. Better than reading about LCFC. Yeah like you don't live in a Palace. We're building Palace year-by-year. This year a seat, next year a set of goalposts, year after that perhaps a couple of floodlights and a floppy-haired orangutan in a suit.
Samilktray Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 If he himself knows he puts his fellow soldiers in more danger then surely it would be a wise move for him to pull out Not saying he should, just in theory like.
Daggers Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Fighting? Like ****. If he wants a scrap then why didn't he join a load of bald, angry men going to Coventry last weekend? Because he's a pussy, that's why. A lactose-intollerant pussy.

AoWW Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Oh, for fook's sake... does this really warrant an extended news?
stez Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Oh, for fook's sake... does this really warrant an extended news? i was impressed with the news showing exactly what they're doing and how, bet osama won't look at that though! what's made me smile is they're going on like he's single handedly protecting us and everyone else in the world. i bet the parents of all the other soldiers are pleased by that. i'd also be fairly sure harry doesn't want to be singled out from his mates either.
Nationwider Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Is Afghanistan a new nightclub in Kensington? To be fair, he's more likely to found spending the night in Chelsea than Kensington.
Raj Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Good old Harry! His Dad,Hewitt would be very proud.
Bert Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Oh, for fook's sake... does this really warrant an extended news? My thoughts exactly. Why hasn't every other person on the front line, had an article posted up about them?
Samilktray Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 My thoughts exactly. Why hasn't every other person on the front line, had an article posted up about them? 100% Agree with this.
Raj Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 My thoughts exactly. Why hasn't every other person on the front line, had an article posted up about them? Cos he is 3rd in line to be THE KING...innnit???? He is Special.
act smiley Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 The thing I find concerning is that the media can be bought so easily by a few "exclusives" hanging in front of them.
The People's Hero Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 A normal life? Sit him in an office for 37 hours a week sneaking the odd glance at the BBC Football website and trying to avoid the weirdo from accounts. The 'odd' look?
The People's Hero Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 Is Afghanistan a new nightclub in Kensington? To be fair, he's more likely to found spending the night in Chelsea than Kensington. And who wouldn't? Given half the chance. Rumour has it that that's what Roman thought he was buying and where Ashley Cole thought he was going.
Zingari Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 its much too dangerous a place for him no ginger haired freckly should be sent there
purpleronnie Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 Americans endanger there own again. Muppets.
andyh1884 Posted 29 February 2008 Posted 29 February 2008 The thing I find concerning is that the media can be bought so easily by a few "exclusives" hanging in front of them. Really? You don't think it had anything to do with the press not wanting to be responsible for jeopardising the safety of the troops out there with him or just in general? You don't think that maybe they decided it was best to keep schtum, regardless of any 'exclusives' that might come their way? Maybe I'm just naive, but I'm prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt. The Taleban & Al Qa'ida would've gone medieval if they'd known he was out there, thus putting the troops in far more danger from suicide attacks/roadside bombs etc. than they already are. Would be quite a scalp for them to kill the 3rd in line to the Infidel throne.
